One Handed opening Swisstool from Victorinox
on: September 29, 2016, 02:40:20 AM
That got your attention didn't it??

I have been doing some work in the Wiki on the Swisstools and have also started carrying the Spirit I got for Christmas on my belt at the weekends. Love the Spirt BTW

This has got me fiddling with the Swisstools - What I have found out, is that I can open and close every single tool on the Spirit and the Swisstool with one hand, just using the nail nicks !!  :tu:  :)

It takes a little practice - But it's really pretty easy and quick (should make a video)
I think I saw a post from enki (or maybe even a youtube video) talking about oho regular SAKs and that got me started on this.

OHO the Swisstools is actually easier than OHO a traditional SAK - I guess as the springs on the Swisstool are not as strong as those on a SAK, as they have the lock.
I could even open the pliers, but needed the assistance of my chest for the Swisstool regular.

I was pretty chuffed and put this down to the silky smooth operation of the Swisstools - and thought to myself  -  'I bet I cannot do this on the Wave'  ...... But guess what ??? - You can

Of course not as easy as tools designed for OHO  - But this could come in handy  :tu: Check it out !!
I myself don't normally have a burning requirement for OHO - But this has already been useful on a couple of occasions

He made a video on OHO-ing the Spirit too:

It's a fun thing to practice, but drives my wife crazy.  click ... click click ... click click ... click click ...

Hard without fingernails still. :)
Also Swisstools with scissors are hard to get out. The scissors always get stuck (at least on every three Swisstools I have tried). But with practise this will work out. Good job!
