Do you have or know a child just getting into knives?

I have a barely used copy of the English version of "Crafting with the Pocketknife" by Felix Immler, purchased at the Zurich Victorinox store last week.  You can find it on the global Victorinox website, but not the US website. 

Free to a good home.

A friend of mine whose son is into knives thought it would be a good gift for him, so I bought a copy to page through it and give him my opinion.  I thought his son would like it, so bought a pristine copy for his son's gift.  This is my pre-read copy that is up for grabs.

I would say this book is directed towards pre-teens.  To complete the 15 projects in the book requires a SAK knife with:  large blade, small blade, wood saw, and an awl.  A couple of the more complicated projects also use fire, like basic Bic lighters or embers from a campfire.

I'm so glad you mentioned this!  I've been looking for an English language version of this book for years and couldn't find it!  My German isn't very good and so I didn't have the right translation of the title.  Course Felix doesn't mention English language versions of his book on his website either..... Hmmmm...

Sharkey, the English version just came out in the last 2 or 3 months.  It looks like Amazon and other online places are offering it, but through 3rd party importers.  PM me if you can't find it and we can figure something out.

The English version has been available for a while I guess, since I bought mine at the Victorinox Visitors center in Brunnen during my vacation there in the summer of 2014, but maybe they've just started selling it elsewhere  :think:.

Anyway, it's a great book, with some nice D.I.Y. projects, and some great tips to teach young ones how to properly handle a knife.  I like it very much  :tu:.
