My license to travel was renewed and I am now free to hit the skies, boat, or other methods to see the world beyond the borders of the USA.

My passport was to expire in Oct 2024.  You can not  travel if it expires within 6 months of departure  :dunno:

So, July 1 visited my USPS office, dropped off a letter and presented them my completed form, had my picture taken and paid the fees.

Was told and read online to expect 8 weeks before a replacement passport to be received.  So I waited.

Earlier this week a USPS  code appeared in my notifications, a day after Shepard Hills posted their shipment. Back tracked this new one is from Arkansas?

Today it arrived, my gosh is it, a thin priority envelope 5x8, yep, my new passport. Now good till Oct 2034.

19 days, actually less than 2 weeks before it arrived at USPS for shipment. Wow!

A friend paid EXTRA FUNDS to expedite his, a lot of extra $s, a week before.  And, he has not received his yet!!! His departure is Aug 1🥺

I’ll call him tonight😉

Never felt the call to leave the states. 

Still have lots to see here, though I really like to see places that others have nearby.

I do both, history of world involves people from the world as well.

No, before travel becomes difficult, and while I can, I wish to see and experience places of the world that I have read about, studied, and now experience.

The British Isles, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Portugal are being discussed.  But not final. I also have an excursion planned for Cancun In February pending next weeks cancer followup.

As a Canadian who has now lived in 4 other countries other than Canada, the US being one of them even if only about  a year when I was younger...

Passport renewals can be terrifying, especially if like me, you live outside your country of nationality. I have permanent residence in Spain, in fact just renewed that card for 10 years too... and about a year or two from having the same here in France.

At least you only have the one country to worry about... now I'm working with 3...  :ahhh

We are thinking about a trip to Portugal next winter perhaps- if we all time it right we could have a nice MTO meetup at Paulo's place!   :D

The plans are not on my plate. I am a tag along that was asked to join.

Not privy to the current plans.  I do know original itenary include 10 days starting in England. Then Scottland, concluding in Ireland.  Then another ten days in Europe.
Time frame was discussed for May - June  that I know.

That sounds like an excellent trip!  On fact, I've always thought that the best trips were ones you didn't spend months planning!
