I was bidding on this and I had it and was the only bid until the last 3 seconds when someone raised it on me
it was over before I could bid again.... gutted
I'm going to be brutal here with my advice (but it's for your own good).
There are a lot of people who bid at the last moment (it's called "sniping") for exactly that reason - it doesn't give other bidders a chance to respond because the auction ends at a pre-determined time. eBay is not like regular auctions where the auctioneer keeps bidding going until no one else is willing to raise bids. There are even programs (apps) that will bid at the last minute on your behalf ( I don't use one myself, but they are very popular).
But what you are admitting is that in this instance you were willing to pay more than what you bid. My advice is that if you really want a particular item then you should actually bid the maximum amount you are willing to pay. If that is more than anyone else bids then you will win it, if it is less then they will win.
Simple but brutal, and the choice is yours.
