Another modding question
on: October 21, 2016, 08:10:40 PM
One of my Harvesters (I have two) had the pruning blade broken. Now, one of my favorite SAKs is the Pioneer Solo, so I was thinking to disassemble the broken Harvester and convert it to a Pioneer Solo Woodsaw. If I take out the outer tool layers and the liners and leave nothing but the spring and the woodsaw, the result will be a little thinner than the Pioneer. This might leave the resulting Woodsaw Solo a little unstable, perhaps, so I was wondering if I should leave the liners in or take them out. I have no experience modding SAKs, and need some good advice.

No idea. It probably would work without the liner, but honestly, the single liner is so thin, it probably isn't worth the worry that leaving it out will muck things up.

Just the saw on its own? No need for liners.

Thanks for the answer, and for the move. I didn't yet know about this part of the forum.

whoops, totally misread what you wanted to make, so just disregard my previous comment.  Hiraethus is right, a single woodsaw layer doesn't need any liners.

:D. It took me a couple of goes to work out that he didn't want to build a Woodsman.
