Titanium hammer!

Found this at local Canadian Tire (sorta like walmart for non-canucks), and this week only you can have one for only $99+tx.  I tried it with magnet and it's completely non-magnetic.

Not sure what can you use it for, using it on steel nails would probably mess up the checkered face real fast. Still though, if I had the spare cash I'd buy one.

It's a 16oz, so any one behind it that is 16oz is the same thing? The whole name of the game is to get as much weight to the head with as little handle weight, so why not just get a wood one?

Seems kinda pointless to me. Titanium is 56% the density of steel so you might as well make an aluminium hammer.
Sure the Ti would be tougher, but you want a hammer head to be heavy for its size and have a decent strike.
If hazardous environments are the issue, what's wrong with the copper, brass or bronze (or other non sparking alloy) hammers that have been around forever.

As AvE would say... "The marketing smurf is strong with this one."

For reasons I am unable explain I've been thinking about this for most of the day.

So a quick search and apparently titanium tool kits are common for repairing MRI machines (not sure why you'd need a claw hammer though).

But I also doubt MRI techs get their tools at Canadian Tire....

Well, I wouldn't want to be the one testing that, even though hip/knee protheses made from Ti ought to be safe.

I just assumed that Magneto would use a static magnetic field.

I'd just avoid using/having any metals "aboard" when in MRI. Even the amalgamous (is that the right word in English?) fillings in your teeth can get a bit edgy when tuned in the right MRI field.
Same effect as with metal detectors - the magnetic field in motion induces an electric current into any metal object, thus making it partly magnetic and thus detectable. (Sorry, lacking English to express more precisely)

Try an aluminium coin. Put it on a table and wiggle a strong magnet above it. The coin will move.

And now imagine having a piece of even non-Fe-metal in /on your body while in a powerful MRI device.

Sometimes it's bad to have a vivid imagination.

I have metal in my anatomy. Fortunately I haven't had too many MRI's.   

I have been through many metal detectors without an incident, and I have run over the spots with powerful magnets where the metal is just below the skin and there was no attraction so I imagine I have titanium in me rather than steel.

State-of-the-art-steel used in implantology wouldn't cause a problem either - it's more the little splinters of ordinary steel you got into your eyes (when grinding metal without proper goggles) that can get dramatic.

Way too much thought has been given to it, it's a carpenter's hammer, existing for tacticool purpose only. 

Maybe since it doesn't have the proper mass to drive nails it is there to increase the length of jobs so that the contractor can bill more?  You know, since each nail takes twice as many hits the con tractor can double the labor portion of the bill?

In that case it's not tacticool, it's an investment in his/her business!
