I realize I am breaking the rules by posting TWO watches on the same day, but I finally replaced a missing case screw on this solar G Shock, and I decided I really wanted to wear it.

Feel free to ridicule me for not getting the rules.   :D

Today's watch is my Armitron, also a gift from SwissMan.  I love the colors, I love the skeletonized face, and, as an added bonus, the back plate is also clear so you can see all of the inner workings.

I could sit and watch this one for a lot longer than I am willing to admit!

Got my first G yesterday at the fleamarket. Just a lower end GA-140, but it's my first. I was never sure if I'd like the feel of one or not as I am not much on the rubber type bands. I was happily surprised at how quickly the watch felt comfortable on my wrist though. I really wish it wasn't a negative display, but it is what it be like I suppose. I had to step outside to get the digital displays to show in the picture. Luckily, I prefer an analog time piece so the easy to see hands balance everything out!

Very sweet watch.  I have a GA-101 with the display like that and I agree it is almost impossible to read.

It is however, like yours, a very sweet looking watch.  I hope it serves you well.  When I was younger I used to be even harder on things than I am now, and a G Shock was about the only watch that could stand up to my teenaged stupidity.

Thanks Grant  :hatsoff:

I look forward to hearing how you get on with it!   :tu:

I did a major no no today.

Most days I get up, pull my smart watch off the charger and put it on.  Since my smart watch has died, I have been enjoying wearing my other watches until I replace my smart watch- my Mom just got a new one less than a week before she passed away, so I will probably get that one in a couple of weeks when I visit my father next.

Anyways, on to my boo boo today- I looked at the watches in my bedroom and decided I would wear one of the ones in the other room and so I didn't put one one.  Then I ran out of time and forgot to get another one, and now I'm at work with no watch at all.

I wonder how many times I am going  to look at my wrist today and feel really stoopit?

Yeah,,, I do that at least once a month,,,,, and it's always on a Monday ironically. We clean the house on weekends and my week day EDC always gets "put away" by my wife. Sometimes I forget to go on a search and rescue mission until after I've had to go through a day without my watch.

BUT!!!

I carried these two today. The banded Casio is my official work watch. The pocket watch is something I picked up and repaired over the weekend. I'm thinking about mounting it to the lid of my tool box so at least I will have something the next time I forget my EDD watch.

Today's watch is my Casio Twin Sensor that I got as part of a huge watch score a while back.

One of these days I'll figure out how to calibrate the thermometer and compass, and then it will be a really great watch!

Nice Casio- it looks like a Telememo series watch?  I love them but that's because I'm old enough to recall when having functions like phone numbers on a watch was really, really handy!

Definitely tech that hasn't kept up with the times!   :ahhh

I love that pocket watch too!  Good luck getting it running!

Now you're all set.  Wont be worried about forgetting a watch when y'all do your cleaning and the Mrs puts it up.

It's been a while since I wore this watch, and it shows!  I went to set the time on it and was reminded that it only goes to 2019!

I originally got this model (not this specific one) in the early 90's.  Up to that point I hadn't been able to wear a watch as they would almost always break or be lost, but when I saw this one I figured it would be able to hold up.  I told my Mom I wanted it for my birthday, and she was apprehensive because it was expensive (I think about $75 at the time, if I recall correctly) which, from her point of view I'm sure, was a lot of money for something that wasn't likely to live long.

Still, she got it for me and it survived for several years, and is probably still going strong wherever it is.  It was stolen out of my car a few years later when I lived in Toronto, and I was pretty heart broken.

Then, a number of years later I was searching for info on the model and I joined a GShock forum to ask about it.  Someone there sent me a spare one they had- and that's where this watch came from- literally a stranger being nice to someone on the internet.

Getting back to the year thing, it always amused me that this watch would tell you what year it was (obviously not anymore!) but it doesn't have a light.  It always amused me that it would be handy if you were in a coma and woke up, you'd know how long you were out, but only if you woke up during the day!

Wherever you are Paul, I hope things are well with you.  Miss you buddy!

Back with the Elliot Brown today, if my pictures seem a bit repetitive, there’s a reason.

I’ve slipped a disc and can’t get into the safe to change out the watches.
