Yes it's strange, I am pretty OCD about stuff but I don't care if the date is wrong. Weird :)

You would think it wouldn't be easy to read, but I don't look at the markers on my watches anyway for telling time. I look at the hands and case position, as a whole in a glance, to tell time.  :)
