Excellent last thoughts. How you explained your month out is the vibe I got from you about the Signal the whole month. It isn't a kitchen sink type model but had enough on it that you have no trouble EDCing it

Thanks Poncho.

We definitely get a good feel for any Multi after 30 days. I will most likely keep using it on a very regular basis.

It was interesting to follow this Pete, and I look forward to seeing your modded version

Thanks

A question for the Signal modders: I went ahead and swapped that blades out last night. The OEM blade is quite a bit thicker that the Wave blade. It also touches the Awl when closed and that is probably why the blade has the strange bevel to it. Do you need to add an extra washer or two? For now the swap was reversed as I don't want to damage the edge on the PE blade. I will see if I have the correct size washers in the garage before attempting to swap the blades out again.

Cheers,

Pete
I'm not sure on this as I didn't change my blade, but I would guess a washer may be necessary as you said.

Glad to hear that you are going to continue EDCing it some  The 30 day challenges can either make or break a carry :D You can definitely get a feel for that particular tool in that length of time and usually know all the pros and cons :tu:

G'Day,

Well I played again with the two blades today. I found an additional bronze washer from a MUT and added it to the Signal. The play issues I had disappeared, but the edge still rubs against the awl. I also have another 1mm washer (difference between the Signal blade and the Wave blade) but it is to big and the locking mechanism cannot clear it. Tomorrow I might go see the nuts and bolts man to see if he can help with a thicker bronze washer. The blade also rubs agains a small metal tab on the awl side, circled in the last pic, not to clear though...

So back to the OEM blade it is...

Cheers

Pete

Me too, the fact that LM is in imperial makes it difficult in a metric country. I do have a Plan B, but will keep looking for now.

Awesome writeup Pete. Didn't follow the whole thread daily. Been very busy at work. Will read it once I get a long break.
Cheers.

Thank you.

Pour a good beverage first, "stukkie boerewors" and have a read!

The sheath is now well bedded in, I love it.

Sheath carry is for me but I do love a good clip when I just want to grab a MT and go
