Surprisingly, my wife doesn't want another SAK for Christmas

Yep, once again it's that time of year when we're all scratching our noggins wondering what the heck to buy the ladies for Christmas.
I've noticed that if you spend too much time buying SAKs you start to think that everyone in the world would be delighted to get an Alox Pioneer or a Rangerwood from Santa. Incredibly, this isn't always the case....
In fact I might end up with a Pioneer between the eyeballs if I try to convince Mrs Thunderpants she really needs more Alox in her life.
So I have decided to compile a database of Xmas present ideas that aren't made in Ibach.

1) Er...
2) Fancy soap. Smelly and luxurious.
3) Candles (Beeswax!)
3) 10 days skiing in Val D'Isere
4) A new car
5) Er...

Anyone else got some winning tips? Before the old girl ends up with a Rangerwood and I end up with food poisoning?

What's within her interest range apart from the usual woman-stuff?

Yoga! But once you've got the mat, where do you go from there? An alox yoga mat? A mat with toothpick and tweezers?
Maybe there's a magazine for yoga people. "Yoga Weekly. Ten mats tested. Mat rolling tricks and techniques. What to do when your feet get stuck behind your head."

Get her a new torch instead? :-)

SWMBO and the kids got SAK's last Christmas but this year I picked up cheap slip joint folders with a built in carabiner for all our stockings (different coloured scales to differentiate)

I have tried to get her to just order stuff and I will pay for it :tu: Suprisingly I have had a hard time convincing her to do this ??? I tell her that would be fine for me to do as well but that doesn't go over well either :-\

I love Christmas but buying for her is sometimes a bit more than I bargain for ::) She says get anything and I will be happy and one year I fell for that

I dare not imagine what the poor woman suffered all these years with your selfish gifts.
Stop thinking of yourself. Make her a present entirely for her and her only.

Something like..... eeerrrr......hmmm...
... like sexy lingerie?

Or... I don't know, something like breast augmentation surgery?

Or, let's see, something like...., got it, an expensive men's fragrance, in order to be able to enjoy the smell of you?

Or perhaps a Miele FashionMaster All-in-one Steam Ironing System, you know, to iron your shirts without much agony?

Or, some new books, to keep her company while you are in the pub or the bar?

Sleeping pills, for when you want to watch the football on TV and the sound makes her crazy?

Or a new Italian men suite, complete with leatherbelt and shoes, silk tie and all, so as she will be able to present you with pride to her friends (and make them jealous, that always works).

I have plenty of ideas now. It's not that difficult to please a woman, if you are a considerate man.

I don't know if I have been of help to you, but I'll give hints to my wife.

OK, I just tried to help.
Be careful though. Any present which has anything to do with workout (flexibility, youth or beauty)  might (let's be honest, WILL) be interpreted like this: "He thinks I'm fat (inflexible, old, ugly).

Think about that yoga wheel twice.

Btw, what's a yoga wheel?

Cynic's version: What she basically want is your discomfort, since that would affirm her status compared to you. What she gets isn,t important, as long as it obviously has cost you time (a lot of it) and money (ditto).

Nice version: Is there anything completely useless she would fancy? Weird electronics?  Teddy bears? Does she have a hobby? (If she doesn't, she should take up one. :) )

Standardized version: Take her to a nice evening out, whatever that means in her preferences.

Easy: a shiny new 30 ton excavator. She almost wore out the old one.
All I know is that I don't know anything - but I can't prove it!

My vote is for the easy route: Consumables.  Fancy soaps, teas, hot chocolate, a fancy dinner, a homemade dinner, etc. :)

Yeh; I've done the car thing. Leaving the Christmas present to a $2 USB gender bender connector for the car; with a cable I already had and a USB stick so the car will play music from a USB stick. She won't value it but the kids might realise the usefulness. True romantic.

Never do what I do. Good luck.

Same here, untill she bought me a Swisschamp
We were looking for some gift to my father in law and I suggested a Swisschamp which I think   was a superb suggestion. Isn't it?
But my wife was like "he has a SAK"
And I said "I know so it will be sweet to have a Swisschamp! " :climber:
But she said "he is not like you!  Crazy!"
And I was like why???  Everybody loves swisschamp! No?
She ended up buying her dad a scarf....   ???

Loved the first post - This is exactly how I think - As you say ' A SAK/MT for everyone' - I am trying to give this up too ???

I dare not imagine what the poor woman suffered all these years with your selfish gifts.
Thanks for the sanctimonious lecture but I prefer the yoga wheel idea...
Did you miss the irony (and the iron) in KK's suggestions ???  ;)  :o

How about nice expensive make up or make up parephenalia? Bobby Brown seems to be popular - Can be a bit tricky as you have to get exactly the right stuff.
Or what about a gift voucher for a trip to the spa/beauty parlour for a bit of girly spoiling.  8)

Dangerous thread.....men giving advice to men on what to buy their wives.

I was thinking that I would give my wife some peace and quiet in the afternoon on Christmas Day. I am hoping to take the crossbow out for a hunt.
