SURGE: Question of size and shape

Hi @ all,
I need some help! Did a lot of research but could not find an answer to my (easy) question.
I found a guy who is doing some great artwork on Leather sheaths. I ordered a sheath for a WAVE, and its really great. The big problem is, I do not have the WAVE anymore I now have the SURGE. Did not remember this when I ordered 
He would build me a sheath for the SURGE but he has the SURGE from after 2013 and I the one that was build before 2013.
So my question is:
are they different in the outside size and shape? He is building the sheath like a skin, so it is very urgent that they match from the outside form and size
Is there anybody that can give me an answer to my question?

AFAIK,  the new surge is basically the same size as the original one.  Not sure if they are perfectly exactly the same and there might be 1-2mm variations on the width or thickness that I am not too sure. A sheath that fits the old surge should also fit the new surge nicely.

See if any folks who own both could give you an exact measurement.

I've just measured my old and new Surge and there is no significant difference in the width or thickness, less than 0.5mm
