Trespass / Gazonty Multi Tool
on: February 01, 2017, 02:42:26 PM
Anyone had any experience with these? I saw it on sale in UK-based outdoors store Trespass. It's branded with Trespass logo but on their website it's labelled as a "Gazonty Multi Tool". Can't really see anything about these online - just wondered if anyone had used it? I don't imagine it's much good to be fair, as it's quite cheap, but if it's halfway decent for £9.99 it might be worth getting to just leave in a backpack for emergencies.

Also, before anyone suggests I be the first to try it out for £9.99, I'm carefully considering my spending this month... that £9.99 could go towards a Wave after all  ;)

Link doesn't work for me. And the website gives 0 results when searching it for "tool"

But if it is that black and red one google search shows me, then I highly recommend investing a bit more and get a LM Rev or Wingman. Personally, I however recommend to go all the way and get a Victorinox Spirit.
It wouldn't be the internet without people complaining.

Personally I think you'd regret buying it. Save up your money and buy a second hand LM or Spirit from here - maybe put a 'want' ad up for the model you're after and see what happens, or if you've got anything interesting to trade, that might be a way to go.

You've been around here long enough for people to know who you are, and if I had a spare MT I would wing it your way. Unfortunately I only have a Spirit (which I won in a GAW-still can't believe it) and a really crap cheap mt I use to clear my shredder out with when it gets clogged.

Also, have a look at car boot sales etc - they may turn up something useful. You can't go wrong with a Leatherman, Victorinox, Gerber or SOG.

Good luck!  :salute:

Update! There's a Schrade Toughtool up for sale in the UK in this thread: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,68939.msg1390997.html#msg1390997 it's only £15 - You would save me agonising over it any more, and it's a good tool for a great price.

I have no affiliation with the seller BTW.

Thanks for the replies.

Magentus - thanks for the heads up and the advice! Why I don't check the want/sale ads on here more, I don't know!

Have messaged the seller of the Schrade - seems like a great deal. Cheers!  :)

:salute: Pleasure. I've been tempted by that Schrade so often, but my Spirit is all I really need. It's the US version too so it's great quality. Nice looking sheath too.

Absolutely! Hope it's still available!

I'm just trying to be a bit more careful with cash this month, plus that coupled with my indecisiveness is proving to be a bit of a battle between which MT i'd like to get for myself!

I know what you mean. The good thing if you buy second hand and find you don't get on with it you can always trade it or sell it on here. For example, I have very little willpower left when it comes to that Toughtool, so if you wanted to move it on, a marketing campaign aimed directly at me would be a good move.

If it looks good try it--I've got an $10 tool Tractor Supply sold that's got it's issues, but for the $10 price, it's an awesome tool.   I've had cheap tools that looked great, and expensive tools that sucked (The Skeletool comes to mind as Exhibit A of that, it, and the Squirts with pliers come to mind, I dislike thin pliers).
