OK,  here is the results.

first things first,  the shipping was $4.29.  I only paid $2.69,  so that eats into the sellers :ahem: profit

this pouch does look to be as near new as you can get without the box still being sealed.

the velcro shows little if any signs of use.

this stuff is not in the right spot, but the seller did take it out to take the ebay photos.  (the marks on the flaps do not line up with how the stuff is in the case, indicating that it WAS in there right before the photo)

BUT IT WAS THE RIGHT STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the only thing missing as far as I can find is one of the two Safety pins.  (of all pieces to be missing, that would be the one to miss)  I will have to get a replacement.

now to the SwissChamp itself

hard to see in the photo, but there is factory oil on the back tools (I wiped it off of the chisel without thinking before I took the photo)

the spacer for the small blade looks to be brass, I may normally be brass, I just have never noticed.  I noticed on this one.

you can see that it has the Gr[a|e]y plastic mag glass, the older file without the V cut, scissors have a silver screw, and the pliers do not have the crimper.

the pen was a little bent, but I straightened it and it does write

and I like the text on the blade,  I KNOW it was bought in Geneve.

not the best photo, I had trouble capturing the writing.

I need a nice weather day to take some natural light photos,  but i had to share my delight with this ebay purchase.

thank you all for the support and well-wishing.  it means a lot.

this is the best deal I have ever had,  and considering I got a Brand New Sealed Wave from Wal-mart for $7.96  that is saying something.  this was a BETTER deal by far.   :dd:

Wow, great deal on that and the Wave!

Not as good of deal as you got there but on its way to me (fingers crossed) is a new/unused Swisschamp with the single SOS kit (also new/unused) that I paid $30 for with shipping!  Time will tell if it is real too as it should be here by the end of the week!  :)

nice!   best of luck and let me know if it pans out.  it is almost as if the value of this is falling (I know it is not, but two in a weeks time is rather odd)

In 1991 the multi-purpose hook and straight pin were added and the rivet replaced a screw on the scissors
It is probably 1990 or 1991 since the scissors still have a screw.

well, I have one of those SAKs that technically should not exist, so that leads me to believe I can lock the date down even further.

***my date ranges might be off, if anyone has better info, please let me know***

1975 - 1990  Scissors have a screw joint
1975 - 1990  File smooth to the end without the "V" pattern

so at this point, our date would be BEFORE 1990.

1991 - now  Corkscrew solid (not flutted)
1991 - now  has a Hook
1991 - now  Key ring is on the spring, not the liner
1991 - now  Scale has pin hole

at this point I would imagine this SAK was made in 1991, and the scissors and File were holdovers from the previous year.

other attributes cover larger ranges that go from way before 1990 to way after 1991.  so I will skip those in this case
If I can help, let me know

I've got a NIB SC and a SC XLT, I know these are recently manufactured so they have cut a small cost of production by making it out of the standard liner material, it will save them a lot of money over the years without affecting the quality of the knife

and all thanks to your kindly directing it to me.

btw,  when you did so, did you think it was just the pouch?  (like I did at first) or did you know it was the whole kit?

I saw that it was the whole kit. The pouch is what really stuck in my head though and I remember you seemed at a loss when it came to finding one. As much as I wanted it I knew it's not something I needed or would use. The thought of buying it and selling you the pouch never crossed my mind. That's just not who I am.

Wow, great deal on that and the Wave!

Not as good of deal as you got there but on its way to me (fingers crossed) is a new/unused Swisschamp with the single SOS kit that I paid $30 for with shipping!  Time will tell if it is real too as it should be here by the end of the week!  :)

nice!   best of luck and let me know if it pans out.  it is almost as if the value of this is falling (I know it is not, but two in a weeks time is rather odd)

Yeah I will post a pic once it arrives!   It is kinda strange to see/find these deals like this though!  I thought I got a great deal when I picked up a kit just like yours, a dual sos kit and SC all new for about $85 shipped a short time ago!  It too has the SC with a brass spacer!  Guess I got ripped off!  LOL  :)
