Total score! Happy it panned out. Awesome that it's like new! That's a huge end of days pouch by the way.  :tu: :D

and all thanks to your kindly directing it to me.

btw,  when you did so, did you think it was just the pouch?  (like I did at first) or did you know it was the whole kit?
I saw that it was the whole kit. The pouch is what really stuck in my head though and I remember you seemed at a loss when it came to finding one. As much as I wanted it I knew it's not something I needed or would use. The thought of buying it and selling you the pouch never crossed my mind. That's just not who I am.

ahh.  I am the same way,  well almost.  I would think about it, and then decide against it, and just pass the deal along.

I am glad you knew it was the whole thing, and not feel upset you missed a deal
It's just pliers man...it's just pliers.

I think you need a Troubleshooter.  that is a sweet SAK with Pliers.  I really like those.
I'll have a SAK with pliers someday. No rush. I have to get out of this Alox kick first. I can't believe what I'm willing to bid on those.

Amazing - What great result

So pleased for you DT - It's so funny - Someone posted 'Delivered' even before you did - How many people here were following that tracking !!  :o.

Although I gotta say as happy as I am for DT - I don't understand the seller.
Presumably everyone on ebay is out to make a buck or two !!
Even if you know nothing about SAKs, and nothing about knives, and nothing about multitools
- Surely you have to know that that package is worth more than $12 - eg?  ???

Remind us DT - Is it a user? - If so what where? etc - Or a collection item?

Really happy for you too mate, one hell of a deal (and seller  ;) :ahhh

About e-bay, i'm glad that sellers like this pop up from time to time and people are still able to get good honest (this case great) deals.
This case the seller was probably given the item as a present or souvenir and don't really care or know much about it, so he sold it for a cheap price just to get rid of it and not worrying much if he made some money on it or not (just my guess anyway...)
It seems these last years a lot of sellers on e-bay are just out to make a (big) buck at the expense of others, putting up regular items at ridiculous prices expecting that one or other miss-informed buyer falls for it
And don't even get me started on "pseudo" collector's items...

I've looked at some items lately that got me thinking if some guys even know the street prices of some sak's brand new in the stores. For example a regular new Tinker goes for the likes of $22 in the store out of the box, saw a guy asking for one at almost $35 plus $60 shipping wordwide. Another guy selling a used super tinker for $45 plus shipping  these go for $28 give or take new out of the box in the store. If i was selling a used one i would ask $18 max if it was in very good condition for a current production.
I'm thinking of buying two from a guy who has lots, selling them used in good condition for $10 plus shiping. That's an honest down to earth seller.
E-bay is a hell of a lot worse than it was 10/15 years ago unfortunately...  >:(

as far as it being a user or a collection item, that is a difficult question.
my collection is mostly users, I am a low budget collector, who is happy with a user SAK as my collection item, and I carry items from this collection.
I may carry this, I may not.  I like that I have the production time locked down tight, and that it was actually sold in a store in Switzerland, but it is a cool set.

I guess that is a non answer, but it is the best I have right now
If I can help, let me know

As I mentioned I have the exact same one.  I received all the little booklets/guides that came with it too which I like but no box, bummer there!  It has the same stamping on the back of the leather kit as yours and the SC is exactly the same too.  So you date this one at 1991?  Thanks for dating it, I appreciate knowing that.  I am not a big collector but I won't use mine since I have another SC.   :)

Wow, great deal on that and the Wave!

Not as good of deal as you got there but on its way to me (fingers crossed) is a new/unused Swisschamp with the single SOS kit (also new/unused) that I paid $30 for with shipping!  Time will tell if it is real too as it should be here by the end of the week!  :)

Congratulations on your find Sir_Mike!
Hope your Swisschamp SOS kit is exactly as described too!

Okay everyone, here is a quick pic of my find that I received in yesterday's mail.  It cost me $30 including shipping for this new single SOS kit and Swisschamp.  The only thing from the SOS kit that I can see missing is the small string but not sure what the full contents should be yet, I will have to check.  The SC is missing the mini driver.  Still not a bad find for $30 and I am happy with it!   :tu:

Thanks!  I am happy with it for sure!

I also lucked out and scored a older (pre 1996 as it doesnt have the crimper in the plier's) Swisschamp that is in very good condition but needs new scales for only $24 shipped.  That one looks like a good score too since I have scales already!  :)
