Newspaper article from Finland
on: March 04, 2017, 11:57:16 AM
Greetings from Finland!

I found this very intresting forum a few mounts ago. Since then I have been reading this discussions.  Amazing collections you have and huge knowledge about SAKs! Well, I thought maybe I can write also when I found this newspaper article. I was reading a local newspaper called Moro (Tampere city area paper, Patrik Line was born in Tampere, maybe somebody know him, NHL-player)
I was quite suprised when I saw this picture where was stuff collection (mostly album covers) by famous (in finland:-) Finnish singer and songwriter Juice. With those covers was a SAK (SC I think), I thougt what a heck. Juice (died about 10 years ago) was bohemian cityman, not at all outdoor type. But the reason why this SAK was with his albums and stuff was that he always carried a pocket knive with him because he liked carving and tinkering. The article says that he had many different pocket knives but does not tell were those all knives SAKs. This was my little story and it is one examble that you can find SAKs in suprising context.

I have to admit I'm happy every single time a knife pops up in the news in a positive context.  :tu:

Welcome!

I know from my own life experience, that a AK is just as useful in a city than country, if not more so. I am and have been most of my life a city boy. Yes, I liked backpacking and canoe camping and hiking, but the woods was somewhere I visited, but lived in the city. I find there are more uses for a screw driver, bottle opener, corkscrew, in the city than the woods. Most times in the woods, all I need is a good knife. In the city, I've used my SAK to replace an electrical outlet, a ceiling fan, fix the lawn mower, and get a cranky old Vespa motor scooter going again.

A SAK is home in either city or country.  :tu:
Don't get too serious, just enough will do.

cbl51 you are so right! I still have a habit to compound SAKs (specially SC) and outwoods because my history as a boyscout. Later years when I was working as a IT speSmurfpillst/support my only tool was Cybertool41 when I did harware installations and repairs. My Cybertool never been in outwoods :)
