Just saw No. 08 Stainless with Olive wood handle for $24.18 on the big river site. Other exotic woods on sale as well for sizes 6, 8, 9. Best wishes. G

Do you have any opinion about the non-locking blade on a No. 5? Naturally there is no factory alternative. Would you like a lock better? Best wishes. G

Not at all Gary. It's not a loose blade, as you know how Opinels get. As long as you keep pressure on the back and not use it to poke at something it works well. Picasso used a No 5 to carve with and it looks like he did pretty well without the lock.

I'm not a long time Opinel owner. However, I have used slip joint knives my whole life and never thought too much about it.
I did manage to charge the battery on my Cub and mow some. Changed the oil and serviced the air filter. Cleaned up the weed wacker a little and ran it a while. Hot here and dry as a bleached bone. Best wishes. Gary

My oldest got our yard mowed yesterday. It's been in the low 80's here and some thunderstorms. I think it's going to be a wet Spring!
