This happens alot with combo tool Saks. You will often see rub marks on the main blade. So that is normal. If it's preventing the tool from closing properly then that is a problem.

Just seems to be the way it's made.I seem to remember the same happens with my Compact. Usually the tip of the combo tool hits the spine of the large blade. I then help it slide down until it closes.
