Any problem solvers?
on: April 28, 2017, 10:14:40 AM
The cap lifter on my yeoman is rubbing against the blade when it is closing. Anyone have any idea how I can rectify?

Cheers

Check to see if the tools have side to side play. If so, it's still possible to peen the pins again to make it tight.

Are any of the tools bent?

Otherwise, you may have a bent pin...

Or one of the tools was forced and got a little out of alignment. Check them.

Happens to every SAK I have that has the combo tool.
The combo tool scratches the main blade by closing any of the 2 tools.
Doesn't seem to happen on the ones with the opener layer though.

Is it a modded or factory Yeoman?

This happens alot with combo tool Saks.  You will often see rub marks on the main blade.  So that is normal.  If it's preventing the tool from closing properly then that is a problem.
PM me or email sakmodder [at] gmail . com if you are looking for custom SAK work.

Similar thoughts to Syph. All my combo tool SAKs do this. Even when I've redone that layer in a mod. Just seems to be the way it's made.

I seem to remember the same happens with my Compact. Usually the tip of the combo tool hits the spine of the large blade. I then help it slide down until it closes.

That sounds pretty bad. Mine doesn't get stuck, it just rubs a bit on the side
