I can't say as to a forum, that's beyond my ken.

I think we need it to be complete. I just bought the electrician model today and the tool is fantastic. The quality is amazing!

I can't see it fetching anywhere near enough traffic to justify it's own forum.  So a no from me.

I was about to suggest an "Other Brands", but that's what we use the General Tool for!

I agree, for about a week.  :D  Gerber is a far more popular brand and that forum is very quiet at times.  A Bear one IMO would be far more quiet than that one.

What about an "Off brands" type of forum instead?  This'll cover everything from B&S to cheap Asian knockoffs, Winchesters, etc...

I agree that Bear & Son should get their tools into some stores and promote them...but until then I think the General Tool forum can handle any Bear & Son discussion :D

EDIT:
Just typed in "bear son" into ebay...a few knives but not one multitool :P

Too bad Discount Cutlery's website won't let me buy them.
It gets stuck trying to load the payment system.

YES on the Bear forum.

We have too many tool forums as it is. There should be 2.

One should be the "Swiss forum" and the other should be called "Other crap".

Looking at the B&S site, they have 5 M/T's and over 200 knives listed.
I do agree they are US made and I am a big supporter of keeping $$$ @ home.
However, there is no mention on their WWW site I can find that mentions their warranty - anyone have a tree made catalog they can research this?
I'll probably order a couple of the M/T's and let them get a workout on the job

I'm still sticking with Swiss Spirit  +  SOG PPP for now, they seem to work best for what I do - and now both have pocket clip mods + a lifetime warranty !

Anyone have a B&S M/T? - What are the chances of putting a L/M pocket clip on them?

Why do I carry a 45 ?
Because they don't make a 46 !

I think I have a Bear catalogue from the SHOT Show last year.  Unfortunately, my main computer (with the scanner attached) went up in flames last week and I haven't had a chance to look at it yet (maybe today!) and it has the scanner attached to it.

If you have any specific questions about them, their prices or their line, send me a PM and I'll look it up for you.

As for putting a LM type pocket clip on it, I think you'd be better off to mod a Charge clip by cutting off the end and drilling a hole in it rather than using something like the Kick clip since I think the pin size is significantly smaller on the Bear.

I've owned, modded and used Bear MTs for years now. For whatever reason, I like them though they are not my go-to tool by any stretch. When they are made well, they are VERY good tools which instill confidence in rough use. Two of my Bear tools (yeah, I know I gripe about this all this time, sorry) are inconsistent, but still good work tools.

I still voted "No" simply because when I've mentioned Bear in the past, there have only been 2 or three posters who've used or even seen them outright. This is a shame since Bear is such an oddity among MT manufacturers. You'd think someone who had the obvious advantages they claim would have a bigger piece of the MT market. They have the outside-accessible tools, reinforced bolster area for the pliers, a very good file which actually feels like a file, heavy wall construction for the handle material and, lastly, they claim (or used to claim) to make all implements in-house. On the other hand they have an oddly-designed Phillips which takes up too much real estate, and a laughably huge lanyard ring which you could use to suspend yourself from a mountain cliff. Still, I love 'em.

Bill.
