I've used the awl for boring holes, but never for sewing.
Only uses for reamer:- making new holes in a belt- open a hole in a medicine pot
I find that the awl is quite helpful in loosening tight knots. (I prefer to blunt the sharpish edge so this can be done without causing damage).
I've used my awl/reamer lots of times for lots of different things. Mainly putting holes/drilling through all kinds of stuff, poking stuff, scraping stuff, even light prying.Used the sewing eye once for putting a loose thread back in on one of my wife's large threaded wool sweater's, worked great

Used the awl on my Tinker to add a hole to a belt that shrank.
That was my 2500th post!

Congrats RoSchro. It would be befitting if you celebrated (for free) by making a hole in something with one of your many reamers and using the sewing eye. With pics.
