PM101 / Schradepocalyse.....?
on: July 06, 2017, 11:47:57 AM
Did I miss this being mentioned or do we just not care?

TBH, I unsubscribed from PM101 a while ago, no need to go into the reasons, just got up my nose at times and there's so much good content on YT I fail to see the need.....

Saw two videos about this incident by accident last night.

Could that be a world record for breaking knife tips?

What really irritated me was his fixation with the hollow grind, I agree with him, don't like hollow grinds either, but CLEARLY on those blades heat treat and/or steel type is the bigger issue........Mr Knife Designer

I can however perfectly understand his anger.

I'm still subscribed but haven't seen any of his videos in a year or more.  They're all way too long and he likes Schrade way too much.  I did notice the other day that he posted a rant that Schrade has changed the giant ridiculous knife he designed, but since I was never interested in that knife I didn't see the need to watch another half hour video about it.

PM101 ... We/I just do not care (for a long time now, well actually from early days). Mis-focused interest this channel has always portrayed in my mind.
No Honey, that's always been in the safe ...

I don't follow PM101 and I really don't get the Jenn-X. All the tests that he and his followers perform would be better done with a hatchet or small axe.

I don't follow him but saw this. I understand his frustration and he does have some points. What I don't get is the mindset that he somehow created a unique knife and any company that comes out with even a remotely similar design without his logo is just coping him. The part that complicated the matter is that even his other designs that don't look similar are supposedly copies (I put it in a much cruder way). So I guess now every company that comes out with a large heavy chopper with a mid saber grind is coping him

He was fine a few years ago, but it started to sound like a Schrade add so I left.

He made another video, finally caught on to the fact that the heat treat is an even bigger issue.........the last bit of that video comes across as desperate

I can still soft of handle the big chopper, but his small BRK I don't get.......at all.

Small BRK? I'm only familiar with that eye sore of a huge thick chopper (I know dks will have a few laughs at this statement) and the smaller LT Wright that looks like something between a Nessmuk and a skinner type of knife
