That is the older Standard Tool Adapter. The Universal Tool Adapter doesn't have the two bumps.

I have one of the older models. It works with the Spirit nicely, and many other MTs from other brands. It's sturdy and quite useful. i find them for 20-25 euros every week on a popular second hand website in my country, where they also sell Swisstools for 50-60 Euros and Swisschamps for 35-40, etc.You can find very nice deals there.

Had you posted this 3 days earlier...They seldomly pop up on our second hand site.Last week one popped up but the details said "pickup only".It was in the village where I went camping so that was quite easy. Didn't know if it would fit my Spirit at home though Which is where I am again now

Didn't know if it would fit my Spirit at home though Which is where I am again now Guess what I found at a very local (and small) outdoor shop, only about an 8 km drive away from my door ... Yep, a brand new "old style" tool adapter, sitting in a display cabinet for about 19 years, waiting for me to come along and pick it up . I guess the 0598 on the side is a date code, right ?Best part, I asked how much it costed and the guy from the store started looking through an old stock catalogue he had, found a page with the Tool Adapter, a bit extender and the bit kit on it, and said 26,95 Euro. About ten minutes later when I was paying for it (and for the Lundhags hiking trousers that I bought, BEST HIKING PANTS EVER, in my humble opinion) he noticed that he had made a mistake, and that the Tool Adapter costed like 42,95 Euro, but since it had been lying there for so long, I could have it for 26,95 Euro .

Quote from: SteveC on August 10, 2017, 12:13:50 AMNice score TG Thanks mate . Don't know about the U.S., but over here, finding a brand new Tool Adapter in a store is a one in a million thing, getting it at the price I paid for it is even more unlikely .

Isn't it cold at times in Belgium? I would wear some trousers in addition to pants myself when hiking.
