Not sure if you can write comments with your response, but I wanted to get your opinions of why you prefer one over the other.  Thank you

I voted Climber because the scissors make more sense to me in my daily life but if I was hiking or something I'd probably reach for a Camper (definitely one with Camping scales, preferably the inlay), I have several of both and consider them among the most ideal and ubiquitous SAK models.

If you're carrying a Classic or Ambassador or other SAK w/ scissors, perhaps the Camper makes more sense as far as covering bases, but I know that when I carry 91mm scissors they see a lot of use.   :cheers:

This is a tough question to answer. I went with 'Camper' because I can pair it with a Classic and have some small scissors pus a saw.

As El C said, the Climber makes more sense on a day-to-day basis for me, but if I'm out in the woods I like having that saw. And it's easy to carry a Classic as well, so I pocket a Camper.

There is no question, you need both!  :climber:

I don't carry Swiss knives unless they have scissors. No scissors means I would have to carry a second knife to compensate for making a crap choice with the first knife, and that's just crazy  :whistle:

Camper all the way simply because you can't get a saw with the 58mm range- that covers my scissor requirements.  :cheers:

I like your logic guys, keep them coming, I like the idea of carrying a camper with the classic :) Obviously they are both great knives.

The overlap in functionality between a knife and scissors is rather extensive. Frankly, other than personal grooming tasks, I can hardly think of times when I couldn't accomplish a task with a knife that I could have with scissors. Scissors may in some situations be a bit more convenient but that hardly justifies giving up the possibility of greatly expanding the functionality of your tool with a layer that is also a good bit thinner than the scissors layer. Easy answer - Camper.

If I need a Cellidor with a saw, I go straight for a Fieldmaster (=Huntsman with Phillips instead of corkscrew.)
Otherwise, one of my three four Climbers :climber: will do:
Red Cellidor;
Sapphire Cellidor;
Red Nylon (ecoline); or
Hardwood

If I want any SAK with a saw and am forced to do without the scissors, I'll take my Soldier'08 or Harvester.

When forced to chose, it would be the Camper. Otherwise, I would likely carry a SAK that has both saw and scissors, or a combo (I prefer the Carver/PX combo).

Just to stir the pot I voted Climber.
If I was just to have the one SAK then I find scissors more useful around town than the saw.

I vote Camper.

It is thinner than the Climber, and if I am out hiking or something, I am more likely to need the saw than scissors. If I need to cut wrapping paper with scissors, I'm probably doing that at home and can get real ones...out hiking, bandages can be cut with one of the two knives, so that's not too big of an issue.

The Climber is a Super Tinker with a corkscrew instead of a Phillips screwdriver. Nothing wrong with it at all. I have an old Super Tinker and a Deluxe Tinker. They are great. I use mine at work, and outside. But I have also been carrying a Surge which has a saw...

Short answer...outside = Camper.  Inside work = Climber (Super Tinker).

I voted on the Climber, as im assuming urban/misc use since you didn't specify one. For me if i go to the country on somewhere I might need a saw ill just carry a huntsman, the extra layer doesn't make that much difference to me in those situations, so why choose when you can have both...  :cheers:

I use scissors several times a week, probably more often than the knife blade. I use them a lot for harvesting chillies and fresh herbs for cooking, labelling pre-cooked for the freezer, as well as "office" type stuff and grooming. In comparison, I have probably used a SAK saw twice all year.  :think:

Suffice to say, I am not seeing your logic and reason  :pok: ;)

If you can't cut herbs, chillies and little sticky labels just as easily with your knife then perhaps you should consider sharpening it :think:

A knife is the wrong tool for cutting herbs, chillies and little pieces of paper? Alrighty then, agree to disagree, because on this side of the pond knives apparently must perform better :think:
