How many smokers do we have here?

I've been smoke free for about 6 months now  I'm doing fine but I've put on a shed load of weight , really I have  My shadow weighs 3 stone

i havent ever even tasted as ive hated that reek all my life.i just cant stand people that has to take and smoke before,after,between everything and whine about bars that arent allowed for smokers.and lately ive gone mad to my friend who managed to get lung cancer in age of 31,he started to smoke at age of 11 and smokes stil some two packages a day  and whines and whines......and between whining he almost pukes blood as he chokes and coughs all the time.


its all the same to me if someone chooses to smoke though but i dont wanna hear bitchin and whinin as your health is gone


and what comes to females,i dont date smokers at all.


and all you smoking GREEN people here and there.....how can you smoke and whine about rainforests and pollutions,at same time.hypocrite stuff.

Nope don't smoke either, when I was a kid, I could afford money for ciggrettes or petrol for my bike, not both, so the bike won Grin

And women that smoke are a real turn off too, all those lines round there mouth, and looking years older than they really are, does nothing for me Grin

Been wanting to try cigars its not very popular here in our place in fact I don't know or seen anyone smoke a cigar here. Is it true you don't inhale cigar? you only puff those bad boys? And I've heard that you have to use matches instead of lighters to lit them something to do about the flavor?

My favorite is Skoal Apple Blend, but with a half dram of Jack Daniels fine Tennessee Whiskey poured in and allowed to soak.   

  It's not chewing tobacco, it's dipping tobacco.  It's not "snuff" (even though the cans say it is) in the snorting sense, it's much more like snus.  Having worked with and for Vovlo for a number of years, I've met many a "snus" Swede.  It's most definitely part of their culture; so much in fact that their refusal to ban it delayed their entrance to the EU.

The Swedish typically pack in the upper lip ...  I've never seen that anywhere else.  USA "goodoleboys" are strictly lower lip.

Yes, I know it's disgusting.  Nicotine is nicotine, and it doesn't matter how you dose it ... it's addictive and that's the bottom line.

However, there's zero risk of lung cancer, COPD, coronary risks, etc. compared to smoking.  If you don't BURN the tobacco, you don't generate tar, with formaldehydes, aldehydes, nitrosimenes, carbon monoxide, and the dozens of other nasty chemicals.

Plus, there's no "sidestream" or "secondhand" exposure.  While it might disgust him or her to SEE me dip tobacco; unlike a smoker, I'm not making a carcinogenic aerosol into public air.  We could argue for years what my chewing/dipping may or may not be doing to MY health, but I swear it isn't doing anything to YOURS.  Really.   I promise not to spit in your mouth!   (And don't steal a gulp off my cola can with the tab ripped off.  Really, don't.  It's not cola.  Seriously, don't.  You might live to regret it ....)

I love the nicotine paradigm that seems to state that a smoker has a right to smoke in the tavern [well, not so much anymore, but they still FEEL they should have that right]  but somebody chewing or dipping tobacco is disgusting and should be sent away.   

A can (tin) of Skoal costs about $7 US and lasts me about a week.  A carton of Marlboro Lights costs about $60 and lasts my smoking friends about a week.  They constantly lecture me about how disgusting my habit is, ironically usually outside the pub in the cold whislt sucking on their cancer stick.   

Oh well.  If I had wanted to live forever I would have taken better care of myself.

I remember one time I was in the military we had a visit from the US Navy stationed in Keflavik, Island. They where at the base with 3 P-3 Orion surveillance/submarines hunter planes.

The Americans had been there for a week and then I heard that the Americans was going too have a party at the officers mess. It was my week of so I decided too crash the party, and I was greeted with open arms . That day they where introduced too Norwegian beer (much better than American beer according too them and I agree), Norwegian rolling tobacco and Norwegian/Swedish snus. I remembered the faces of the guys that used dipping tobacco when they looked at me taking a good pinch of snus and shoving it up my upper lip. They tried snus and some of them loved it. A little fun fact for all you Moto GP fans out there: Nicky Hayden uses Swedish snus, he has a mechanic that is from Sweden and Nicky gets a shipment from Sweden with snus once in a while. Hey, something just hit me, he’s braking the law.

I tasted the dipping tobacco they had with them and I can’t understand why anybody in USA uses that stuff, it tastes like colorful enunciation and full of additives.

That snus, snuff and dipping tobacco is not as harmful as cigarettes is completely wrong. It ruins your gums, you increase the risk of throat and pancreas cancer. Butt on the brighter side, you reduce the risk of getting holes in your  teeth because it increases the PH value in the mouth, making it not that nice of a place for hole making bacteria too live

You *can* inhale.

Of course, you *can* turn green and look like a fool too.

It's really a matter of personal preference.

I've heard about the match thing too, but never noticed a difference. Maybe it only matters with really fancy cigars.

Given that I am, as they say, "Financially Embarrassed" I only smoke cigars when I know I'll exude an excellent cinematic air.(we're talking Clark Gable situations here)
