First time I've seen a light with reverse position of batteries:

The light is made by Emmisive Energy Corp., maker of Inova flaslights, who has manufactured several models of flashlights with reverse polarity.  According to some MT.ORG members who have accidentally installed the batteries backwards, it has polarity protection.  So, no worries!

I'm pretty sure it's just a basic on off light.
I'm back!!

I've not seen many of those.  Does it have the red rubber grip?

Very nice.  I've previously seen one with the red rubber.

I notice that they're not putting the red enamel on the Vic logo any more.

Victorinox and some torches use watts as their measure of brightness in their lights, others use lumens.
Sorry for the ignorance, could anybody tell me the difference? (I know Terry's an expert on this)

Vic light using 2 AAA = 2 watts
                   2 AA   = 5 watts
                   2 C     = 7 or 8 watts

I've tested the brightness of a Viclyt with 2 AAA is in between the 12 lumens of EO1 and the 20 lumens of P2D in low mode.

A Watt is not a unit of brightness, it is a measure of power.  1 Watt equals one joule per second.

The Lumen is luminous flux or the measure of the perceived power of light.

There is no way to convert watts to lumens or lumens to watts, since they are units of different measures.  You could determine the number of lumens that a flashlight produces per watt, and that would give you sort of a measure of efficiency.  One type or brand of LED is going to produce a different amount of lumens per watt than another type or brand.  Even if you were to compare two examples of the same LED, you could only estimate lumens per watt within a range due to small production variances between LEDs.

The newer LEDs such as the Cree XR-E and the Seoul P4 are a couple of the most efficient LEDs available with current LED technology.  Therefore, these will produce more lumens per watt than the last generation of LEDs, such as the Luxeon.

Basically, the manufacturer is really not telling you anything about performance (brightness) or efficiency by labeling a flashlight as X number of watts....
