Toolguy I like that one a lot!     8)     :tu:        :like:

Thanks David.

I understand Buck made a 110 in this configuration.

I acquired a few in April, went searching for a finger grooved handle and found a Ebony drop point, then BOTM drops with Carbon Fiber Scales and S35VN blade making it brother to my 250 Saunter, and added a Slim Grey because Buck had it discounted.

Pulled a 112 out of the drawer today.

Love the edge these guys take. And the feel of them in-hand. When holding a 112, I feel like I should be doing something useful.....

I'd be in, as long as it doesn't conflict with other challenges or run next month.

I'm taking a break from challenges next month, and I'm booked in July and August. Any time after then is good with me.

It's probably my all time favourite knife, as soon as it arrived, love at first sight/hold/use   :dd:

I've been thinking about getting one of the slim select models, any opinions on the slim select Vs the LT model which i've seen a little cheaper? :dunno:

There are two basic models of the Slim Select.  The color variety made with nylon scales and have the short pocket clip, with 420HC blade steel.   The 2nd variety is called the Slim Select Pro, (what Nix says he has), Scales are different, Black is G10, the Tan and Green are Micarta, with S30V blade steel.  This is another varient, of this model a Pro+, G10 scales, Red Micarta liners and S35VN blade steel.

The LT version is the nylon scales, no liners, thick handle as a traditional, but very light.

I do not believe the Slim Select Pro, Pro+, or LT are being manufactured any longer.   The Plain Slim Selects are yet listed on the Buck Web site.  Some colors are offered at sale price till that color is gone.

IMHO, AWL models are very good blades, and built solid for hard use.  The Pro models are very good lookers as well with updated steel.  With pocket clip the right deep in pocket and fitted with thumbs the for one handed opening.

Thanks LoopCutter, appreciate your help  :tu:

I should have been more clear as I'm thinking about the nylon handled versions, I already have a slim select pro in green micarta (picture above)

You're quite right that the Pro's and LT's aren't being made anymore, but I've seen some LT's for sale locally about $15 cheaper than the current plain slim select

Since my post I've noticed that the LT's don't seem to have a thumb stud, (which leans me towards the slim select), the only other difference I see is the finish on the scales, but otherwise it sounds like they're very similar from what you say?

A RED Slim Select is a pocket rider almost everyday for PST 4 years.   I just acquired two Tans on Saturday less that 20.   And have maybe every color made except black for future needs.
Best value in cut technology.

I see a 112 Slim Pro TRX on Buck's website. I think the 'TRX' stands for torx bolts.

And that Ranger sport looks pretty sweet....
