If I recall correctly, zoidberg has one too.
Don't know his thought on it though.

the Izula is a modern of small fixed blades.  :salute:
I've never had one but read wonders about it, like the KaBar necker it's one of the most recommended small, affordable fixies out there.

Enjoy it!!

Here's my set up for this lil' gem:

The neck lanyard is easily adjustable for use with different clothing, etc....

You can see the small wrist compass on the lanyard.

The sheath is covered with a piece of bicycle inner tube. The inner tube effective lashes a few items to the sheath: ferro rod, safety pins, waxed jute tinder, and a small LED light.

The light is set up so I can press it on and have it shine down without removing it from the sheath. This is my favorite feature of this set up. I've used it a few times in the middle of the night when wandering off from a camp site to relieve the bladder in the middle of the night. Very handy little feature.

The Izulu is a nice knife in itself; a very handy utility knife. (This is my second Izzy, so I guess I like 'em.)

Nice score!  They are great knives.  If you end up finding the handle a little small don't hesitate to try the Izula II.  The extra handle length made more sense for daily use for me.  My Izula is now a stash away/emergency knife. Is this you're first ESEE?

I often wear this one under my shirt or jacket.

With the Izzy, you might contemplate a horizontal belt sheath.

Nice.

If you have an idea for a sheath, I wouldn't mind having a go at making one for you. Since I have a model knife, I should be able to make something that works for ya.

Once I learn from my mistakes in making yours, I'd make myself one too.

Thank you for the offer Nix  :salute: I've made a few sheaths so I'm ok with making one  :tu: I'll probably make a neck carry option and a molle one for my backpack and a hip belt carry,I'll see how I get on with the knife first  :salute:

Cool looking knife! Love the color and the patina on it. What's the oversized hole for, probably not for the pinky and not for a lanyard??

The handles are skeletonized. I'm not sure there is a specific role for the oversized ring at the pommel. It's not really big enough to slip a finger in. Could be used in lashing the Izula to a pole to make a spear?

Zed's knife has the optional micarta scales. The one I've got pictured above was wrapped with some silicone tape for grip and comfort.

I used an izzy 2 for December and January, it's pretty handy for a little blade.
Didn't come with a belt clip so used cable ties to fasten it to my belt horizontally.
Currently on the workbench waiting to be striped and sharpened.

:like: Nice job. I'm still trying to develop my skill set here.

(Do Brits really become 'worried' at the sight of a folded knife in a sheath? At a campground? That seems so bizarre to me. Here, everyone walks around with a folder clipped in his or her pocket (80%), folder/multi in a belt sheath (15%), or a fixed blade in a belt sheath (5%). Having a knife is just considered 'normal', and people will probably think you are a bit odd if you don't have a knife. It saddens me to think that people have become so fearful that seeing another person carrying a knife is a cause for concern. Reconsider the neck sheath idea--it stays well out of sight.  :salute:)
