Gladiator Sword of General Maximus.

I found this at one of the local pawn shops. It looked nice in their glass case, and well, what can I say, I had to bring it home with me even though I tend to not collect such decorative pieces. I can say the price was right. From my research, I found that the blade is carbon steel  :D...a big improvement over stainless steel for a sword. It isn't all that sharp, but with a little TLC, a nice edge can be produced for it if needed. Windlass of India is the manufacturer, and from the stamping on the ricasso, looks to be an official merchandise piece for the movie. The scabbard is very nice, and it includes the baldric as well.

Windlass makes great swords. Very popular with the historical reenactment crowd. :cheers:
