Removing the blade of a Style CS

I want to remove the blade of a style cs. Is this possible and if so, what tools are required and will it be difficult?

Hi dash, welcome!

I don't think it's too difficult, but I bet someone will be along shortly to help you.

For the Style CS you'll need two Torx T6 bits to undo the screws and a bit of fiddling to get the blade off.  You'll need a spacer of some sort to take the place of the blade and lots of faffing about and cursing to get it back together as the scissors springs are always under tension.  :ahhh

You could cut the pivot down I suppose.  But it might be easier to find a washer of the right thickness.

The Micra is a bit different - you'll need pliers, vice grips or Loki's wrenches to take the pivot apart, and you'll need washers to fill the gap left by the blade.

So you basically twist the things at the end of the handles like a screw? Also I don’t understand why you can’t just leave the place where the blade was empty

YOu have a stack of components, right? Take one out. If you don't put something in there, what happens?

They slide. More importantly, the tool you're using at the moment can slide. Then slide back. And now it isn't supported by it's neighbors. It stops working as part of the team. You have chaos, and chaos leads to fear and instability. And then the tool starts to twist and torque and finally break because it had no one to lean on. A multitool is only strong when all of the pieces can work as part of a team. Break up the team and badness happens.

Thanks for clarifying. If I put washers in, do I have to secure them?

As long as they fill up the empty space nicely, nope.  :)
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!
