Lovely stuff today, fellas.

I still need to get my daily pic in. I've been running around, busier than a one-armed Irishman, and haven't had a use for the Sodbuster today. I'll post up shortly....

... well then, I can't wait any longer. I'll catch up tomorrow  :hatsoff:

SAK Guy's power is out so he might not be able to post today but will catch up. I also neglected to tell him about  the GEC challenge and since he already has the TRAD badge he will be going for the GEC Badge for the rest of the month and post some extra sweet GEC pics to make up for the few days he posted pics of other knives  :tu:

No uses to day, but I will say that for a good-sized knife the Sodbuster is pretty easy to carry. Light weight and nicely contoured.

Nix I just noticed you Sodbuster is sitting in some rosemary. Are you hinting at an up coming dish of food you and the Sodbuster are getting ready to prepare?     :)

Heheheh....

That is actually a plant that looks like Rosemary. It's called a 'Curry' plant and does smell like the spices one finds in some curries.  However, I am growing a some Rosemary......and yes...it will be used...if not in this challenge perhaps a later one. (That Rosemary is slow growing stuff!)  :D

Day 10: Wenger Wednesday and Wood Handled Wednesday were covered, and I didn't even need to prepare or change much. The el-cheapo had been on my keys for about a week, I laid out the Swiss Sportsman as this week's SAK carry, and the 2016 110 had been my main 110 this week as well.  Did see my local Lowe's is now selling the new ebony 110s with a leather sheath for under $40. May pick up some extra work around the farm, and pick one up before the end of the month.

The Craftsman from the GAW arrived today.  Thanks, Steve.

It will definitely see some pocket time this challenge, especially considering its nice small size.

You know, I think the opinion proud sheepsfoot blades varies a lot.  In a way, being up high can be a pain when putting a lot of cutting force on the knife. I personally like them that way, as it can be easier to use without the nail nick. I've noticed on a lot of Stockmen where it was proud, it seemed to be the most-used blade.Nice 3318 by the way. I've been meaning to get one of those for quite some time. A dealer has a pink lightweight version on sale for $15. I don't like the color, but it's easily spotted if dropped.

Thanks, Cody!
I kind of feel the same way, because I am a glove wearer at work sometimes, and I know farm hands wear gloves a lot, so the proud sheepsfoot makes sense. But, that said, I am not going to be using that particular Stockman for most work-related stuff, since I generally need thicker blades for heavy scraping/picking and what-not. While carrying the Stockman a couple of days, the most prominent thought in my mind was how proud the blade was. None of my other Stockmans sit even close to as high as that Case blade did. I used a HSS file and pocket stone to grind down the tang bump. It is still accessible without using the nail-nick, but not quite as easy as it was before. With the blade sitting lower, I now feel more like using the other blades more.  :)

Nice use!  Maybe it's just me, but I find it difficult to have perfect control of a non-serrated blade not to 'skid' off the material when push cutting it with force.  I end up using 'chest cut' whenever trying opening clam package to exercise control.
