Love this problem child GEC 54, after the very minor rounding at the tang and keeping blades opened for a month, the pull is still a very firm 8-8.5(a little better than the 9 before, 10 being welded shut).  I gonna followed what Dean did, to ever so slightly thin out the tang(maybe a 3-5deg inclination), so the initial pull could be lessen.  What do you all think?

Day 18: My No 8 and I had our own version of the Tour de France, on a very much abbreviated scale!
Always nice to be out, right now it is summer in full force where I am at...and with a crazy humidity at 80-90%, it is just too warm to get any exercise done outdoor...

My GEC #44 is a hard one to open up also. The only thing I’m hating more is the sharp corners of the blades in the closed positing.

I love my Kobo ebook for it's convenience but the manufacturers still haven't worked out how to use decent quality LED's (high CRI) and yeah, a well thumbed book is a joy to read.

Don't do what that darn Dean did on your #54, it won't come out the same. The bullnose had an issue that caused it to need that, your 54 won't have that issue.

Hold off .................Please.

I'll try to get some new pics and an explanation for your knife later today. or at least by tomorrow morning.

Hey, Dean!

I had a feeling you might chime in, and so glad to hear from you!  Luckily I did hold my horses...sort of.

Today, I used a very, very acute Dremel bit to ever so lightly 'scratch' one of the tang, and I felt it might have further lessen the pull of 8.5 to 8.2?(or maybe it's just in my head).  So glad I just stopped there and you showed up!
