How good is a grand prix for edc?

How good is a grand prix for edc?

I've been looking at the explorer because of the inline philips. I'm also wanting a file.

I started to look at a mountaineer and just use the can opener as a philips. The problem is recessed screws. The can opener has problems with those. I went over to SAKwiki and lo and behold the grand prix has a bottom philips.

What is your opinion of the grand prix? How would it be for EDC? I also see a lot of people recommend the super tinker and basically it's that with a file.

I've only bought them for the collection...but I really like Troubleshooters, which only add Pliers. I think it should be fine, if you're not a big fan of pliers like I am.

I am not familiar with the grand prix, but I am familar with the others.  The Explorer and the Super Tinker do not have a file.

If you are wanting a phillips and nail file, have you looked at the Evo 18.  It has the backside phillips and a nail file.

I used backside phillips sparingly... inline phillips is way better in my opinion... :cheers:

I have a modified no-keyring  black-scaled Grand Prix, with both the fine screwdriver and the hook on the rear.
I love it, it's always in my pocket, no matter what else I choose to carry.

I ended up getting a ~1990 grand prix off ebay. Hopefully its in decent shape. I also plan in the future to get an explorer, and see which tool set gets the most use. The inline philips is invaluable, but man that file is getting a lot of ise lately. Mostly coworkers borrowing it to file their nails!

Finding second-hand SAK in the UK is so hard, as eBay doesn't allow knives. I can buy a chainsaw, but not a SAK. Stupid.
