As a former Case peanut devotee, I tend to use the executive the same way.
With two blades on hand, I tend to use the smaller pen blade as a do-it-all blade for dirty deeds, like cutting open bags of mulch, dealing with he infernal plastic blister packaging that is meant to defy tooth and nail and high explosive.
The longer main blade tends to beheld in reserve, for dealing with cutting a sandwiching half for my dainty better half, cutting a piece of cheese off the Guida to go with the slice of baguette while sitting on a blog in the woods, and in case of alien invasion. I used the peanut just like that, and the executive seems to be in that same ilk. So many years of using the classic as a first line cutter let me understand how a small blade can handle a heck of a lot. So the man blade of the executive is my "clean" blade for food use.
How do you use yours? I know we have a lot of executive fans here, inspired by Chuck Yeager.
