More cold and windy here on Day 12.  I went to my son's Boy Scout meeting last night and packed an old friend, my well-used GAK.

More great knives and uses - looks a bit colder where you are Knifecoop - brrr!

Day 12

Started off sunny here today, and one of the tamer, older squirrels had breakfast whilst I trimmed up dowels with the saw on the Master Craftsman/Astronaut:

Day 12

84mm Gourmet, one of the most minimalist carry there is for SAK.  I found this while I was travelling to South East Asia, and it was pretty memorable in that regard.

I think the translucent scales are the best looking ones!  :tu:

To some extent, I like the matte translucent a little more than the smooth translucent, it's more durable and harder to notice the scratches.

DAY 12

WENGER RANGER  rules    :hatsoff:

I usually prefer the 111mm over the 130mm, but I can see the reasons why folks would like the 130mm.  It's like 111mm on steroids. :D

kamakiri Day 12:

The Original Golfer!!

With all the recent Golfer discussion, how could I exclude one of my favorites? Discontinued and often mistaken for something else. It's also the main reason why I think the LNF versions were never officially called Golfers in the US.

I'll get around to repairing the scales someday.  :-[

Nice Woodsman, Rapidray! I too would like to know why that a Special Edition.

Comis, cool knife!

Kamakiri - I wonder why that was called golfer as it has neither a green tool, nor a pen for scoring like my 91mm, which is frankly the same as the compact (by which I mean my version, a 1991 one) which is still surprisingly expensive for a 2-layer, but still a fave of mine, gaining emerald scales a couple of years ago. I shall try be using it in this challenge as it is the same toolset as the Compact.

Nice Woodsman, Rapidray! I too would like to know why that a Special Edition.

They brought it out of retirement IIRC, for a special run for the 130th Vic anniversary and for Mexico and retired it again.

Used awl today to clean my work phone charging port, wenger awl is best for that job cause its slimmer and not particularly sharp so it wont easily do damage

Day 12

Continuing with the Wengers, today it's the Safari, PE version. No real use to report, just got it out of the case and played around with it during the day.

The translucent scales are awesome.  I have never seen matte one in person, but I think from the practical standpoint they would be cool.

Kamakiri - I wonder why that was called golfer...
I've wondered why, but I think it was just for the 'fancy' horn scales on the original Craftsman model.  Not that it makes much sense.  Which I also suppose it why they changed it shortly after.

Kamakiri, your collection and knowledge impresses me.  I am loving see all the different models.

  Thanks Sos!  :salute:

I probably just post more often than others with more impressive collections and/or knowledge!

Day 12
I opened a new bottle of pills today, which means the knife of the day (The Champion) had to come out to remove the child proof cap, then remove the protective foil and fish out a giant wad of cotton.

Day 12
Today the Yeoman started off with helping to spread some peanut butter and jelly for a snack.  The scissors then helped to cut out a label for a box I have to mail.  Lastly, Fisher found a stuffed football he wanted to play with, so I had to cut what was left of the tag before he pulled it out creating a hole. The scissors also cut a tag from a new t-shirt but no photo of that.

Day 13

Using the scissors on the Master Craftsman/Astronaut to clip off zip-ties on a box of Dremel spares - I put one on there again to stop the lid opening accidentally sending hundreds of little tools all over the car floor!
