What are your thoughts on the durability of Kirinite?  Info online seems limited.

That's a good question.Unfortunately I don't have an answer for you.I do know that it is an acrylic material that has been compared to Corian. If it's as tough as Corian then it should prove to be durable.

I've read that knife makers like it because it's easy to shape.I like it because it has depth that unfortunately I'm unable to capture with my meager photographic skills.

Case has seen the value and beauty of Kirinite and therefore has offered many models with numerous colors of this material.

Thanks.  I might have to take one for the team by ordering a kirinite-handled knife and beating the snot out of it.

It really is a very nice knife. I was going to get another Case Gunstock but found another SAK with India Horn and I have been wanting one for a while now. So I bought it and the Case will have to wait a couple of weeks now.

Here is a Trapper Select and a standard 6254 Trapper.

The Select has blade which has a very different grind, accompanied by a long pull.

Both are nice but I really like that Case Select!       :like:     Case needs to make more of those.     :tu:

Yes David, these Select models are nice.Sellers do ask a premium for them though.

I always look for the non-knife guy selling.By that I mean, someone who buys at a yard sales or estate sales and knives aren't their thing.Even if they reference the average price, they'll usually take less because they bought it cheaply and aren't into knives. That Select model is exactly this type of situation.

I once found a Benelli M1 Super 90 20 gauge fully rifled slug barrel NIB for half of market value.I bought it instantly and discovered the seller was a fishing guy and he found it at a garage sale and bought it for next to nothing.
