Day 26
Wow, has the weather just taken a turn. I got this shot just in time as it has gotten very dark and windy in just the last few minutes and my weather radios are all showing a severe thunderstorm warning. I was playing with the magnifying glass today. I really like having it for reading the small print on my medication bottles, but today it was flowers.

Day 26

Used the can opener to open a can of beans. Not because I did not have another can opener, but I was bored and wanted to use a SAK for the task  :D

I nearly one-upped you just now. I resisted the urge to make beans only because I wanted to use the SAK for something.

Day 26

Typical use today - scissors to open a packet of pasta that I had with chicken.  Resisted the urge to make a side of beans just because.  :climber:

Sounds like you are not having good luck with scales.  Maybe the SC is just trying to tell you it wants a pair of new special scales :pok:

Probably either Hunter Green Plus or Stayglow. The CT34 originally came with HG University of Miami Plus scales, but those were severely warped, and had to be changed with slightly damaged scales off my Super Tinker.  I've had no luck with modern hollow 91mm Cellidor as of late, not only with etching from simply handling the knife when I have gas or diesel residue on my hands, but chipping near the corners, particularly with heavy models like the SC.

Germany, same as Ulzhan

Typical US American mistake, haha. Just send everything to Europe, World
That's not true, I could be forgetful at times and most majority of the US friends are way ahead of me.  Just yesterday, I "accidentally" miss typed Mrs. birthday in a game, and I could immediately felt the death stare from the back of my head...

How nice!  Enjoy the moment. :tu:

Day 26

All screwdrivers on this XLT are magnetized. Have a magnet from an old hard disk for this purpose.
I saw an episode of Felix Immler on youtube about where to hide a small magnet on SAK, I thought that was clever.

DAY 26

Super dense fog, rain, boredom, brew...   but I did find a t-shank jigsaw blade I would like to put in with my Surge so I used the file on my SC to thin the shank for a perfect fit.
:like: That's why I always prefer metal file/saw over the wood saw in urban setting, it's perfect for handy work like this.

That's cool.  I will be joining you soon in Soldier as well, and it's pretty cool they are opening up for non-SAK soldier knife too! :tu:

Tried to open a busted valve on my bicycle this morning. Didn't work - and now the pliers on the CT are damaged. Yay.

Whole day full of video conferencing, dig out my Warthog SC to play in between.  The Warthog scale really does have character, love it.

Yet more great pics and uses!

Day 27

Needed the SC’s main blade to open some soap this morning - the plastic wrapping is impenetrable without a blade!

Nice use, Dove is pretty decent whenever I am in drier weather, the moisturizer did keep my back itch free in cold winter.

These scales are very nice indeed. How well do they take normal everyday (ab-)use, in particular pocket carrying?

Sos24 probably may know more about day to day usage, but I don't nearly use it enough to comment about long term durability.  For carrying any collection piece, I usually pocket carry it alone in my cargo pants pocket or in a slip.

Maybe a small triangular file could fix the teeth again?

Roast tonight. XLT trimming off the string to crisp up the crackling.

My Warthog scales have only been used a little, but I have a few specialty scales that have withstood day-to-day carry and use without the design suffering.
