Chako's post prompted me to dig out some pictures of my rigging, yachtman,& rope knives. The difference between them being that a rigging knife has a sheepfoot blade and a marlin spike.A yachtman's knife has in addition a shackle key. A rope knife does not have either.I have pictures to cover six posts so please bear with me.
#1 A small knife by Asbro of Germany.Blades lock by opening all the way and then sliding back slightly.
#2 A very old French knife marked "Barneria" with the image of a severed pig's head.Pique work dates it to about 1840.
#3 A Buck 315 probably made by Camillus.
#4 A Camillus 4 line marked USCG approved 1944.Wood handles are jigged to simulate bone.
