What I do is try and hold the blade centered when tightening the blade pivot screw.I'm sure someone will chime in with better ideas Sent fra min FRD-L09 via Tapatalk
I have tried that, but I cannot tighten or loosen the screw. There is a torx screw on one side, but the other is just a smooth screw head and there is no way to keep the entire pivot from just spinning when I turn the screw driver.
Yikes, I hate that too, how about pressing the whole thing on top of some kind of rubber to stop the pivot from spinning? I just hope they didn't thread-lock the whole thing, then you might need a soldering iron to soften the thread-lock to continue.
It is just a cheapo knife I am working on, and if that is the case, I may leave it as is. I was also considering taking a Dremel tool and etching a groove in the smooth screw head so I could hold it steady with a flat head driver. I watched that video you sent me the link to, and that is great info, even if it does not work for this particular knife. Thanks!
Hope you find a way to hold it when thightening the pivot The higher end knives with one smooth side on the pivot usually has a flat side on the pivot barrell to keep it from spinning when loosening and thightening.Sent fra min FRD-L09 via Tapatalk
How I wish every maker just use that and keep the thread-lock to the minimum!
