I recently ordered a Lansky Turnbox, as I noticed my old Fieldmaster is extremely dull. This is a stop-gap between regular stone and a Sharpmaker. I'm wondering how efficient just the straight ceramic version is on SAK steel; mainly as I forgot they made a diamond version, and it was too late to cancel the order But given most of my knives are lower-end stainless (420HC, 440A, 1.4116, 1.4034, 12C27, and cheap 420) and carbon steel (1075, 1085, 1095), I figure it should work decently. I'm wondering just how well.
I know diamond cuts more quickly; and for some steels like 440C (the only way I was able to properly sharpen my early Buck 110) and D2, about the only thing one can use. Does Lansky sell the diamond rods on their own, or are there rods from another company that work?

And for cleaning, I bought some white "Pink Pearl" erasers (pink leaves a residue supposedly) and this special cleaning eraser Lansky makes. It''s also supposed to remove rust, which is, in part, why I got it as well.
