....Stropping. Even stropping on the back of a legal pad/note pad (cardboard backing) will give your knives a whole new form of sharp. Also, getting a Sharpmaker will help as well.

Even stropping on your jeans after cutting helps retain the edge on your knife.
But stropping on the back of a notebook pad or even better, uh strop, will put a serious edge on a blade.

I've only just got the Sharpmaker and now you're telling me I need to do this as well.
There is so much I need to learn.

I use the backside of my leather belt for stropping and it makes a huge difference in the sharpness.

I use a thick piece of leather that I fixed to a 1" square piece of wood about 9" long. It makes it easy to hold and is nice and portable. I normally strop any knife I have used through the day sometime before going to bed.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

Metal polish and Flitz works really well for stropping (as a 'polishing' compound on the strop).

I have certainly found that stropping helps a blade keep its edge.
I sometimes think that blades
feel
less sharp when you touch after stropping although in actual fact they are sharper! I think its just that the edge is smoother and there are no rough bits to catch on your skin.
Might just be me though

I think you are right. Something to do with stropping removing some of the burr. That makes it feel smoother on your hand

I thought you were gonna say put a fresh utility blade in.
That's how I get super sharp knives nowadays.
