A Buck 112 with a button.................

Just received this in the mail Saturday along with a Vostok Europe watch from a good friend of mine. Anxious to try it out to see how it functions.For some reason it feels almost as heavy as a standard 110 which I was never really fond of;but I have to try it out.
The build quality seems good and the fit and finish seems done very well. No sharp edges anywhere(except the one that is supposed to be sharp) that I have found. I like the flush mounted button(no safety lock in the closed position)and the action seems smooth. As assisted open knives are legal in this state I shouldn't have any problems carrying it.I don't foresee any real heavy duty work with it and being confined to the house & shop for awhile will make it even less so.

I should have clarified my post:this knife is direct from the Buck factory;it isn't a conversion.I had never heard of them but my friend Bob is right on the top of new products coming out.He also sent along another 112 Lite with a pocket clip.I am currently evaluating that one and have found one thing I don't like:the initial opening is very stiff;almost to the point of being impossible.
I mentioned this to him and he said that he has a couple that were initially like that but have since been easier to deploy.He suggested a little Break Free on the pivot.We'll see what happens.

That Buck 112 auto is a standard factory knife.Buck had been making autos for several years.The Ranger is their latest offering.

Many years ago there were a number of after market companies offering their own version of a Buck auto.I've owned one for about 20 years.
