Great job!  Does Vic make plus scales for the Workchamp?
Not that I know unfortunately- I’d love that

Nice use, I'm currently participating in Solider Challenge, but I will be loosely following you here!

alexanderre - I do hope you'll join me in the future for the "11-Blade 111mm SAK Challenge.  I'll start an interest thread in about a month's time.  I'm not sure what month is best, but I'm thinking of a warmer month so we can all be outside - perhaps it won't be until 2021.

Ah dang... I missed this until today .   I love my Work Champ.   I'd still be willing to give it a go alongside the Soldier challenge this month and would post up to May 31st as my last pic.  If not though, that's cool.  Gonna enjoy watching this thread as well.  The Work Champ is a beast of a Vic. This one I got from the auction world a while back with busted scales so I decked it out in olive drab.

I'd think two simultaneous challenges makes it... not a challenge in terms of the daily usage requirement.  I'm looking at the calendar for this year - maybe we can do a 111mm challenge in August?  Depends on if people would rather do the scheduled challenges.

Day 3

Been visiting my mom and she asked if I have a small screwdriver to tighten her eyeglasses

Nothing to worry about with a Work Champ - the tiny screwdriver is included, so fixed it all in no time

Use forums via mobilephone/tablet browser go to forums setting—> look&layout and change theme to Sunrise. Browsing forums is much more easier when Sunrise theme is on.

Another popular option people use on this forum is imgur, but you may need a pc for getting the bbcode link for forum posting.

Finally it works

Day 4

Sharpening kitchen cutlery again. Cut a piece of duct tape in case I’ll decide to protect the knives from scratches, but decided not to use it later - too slippery. Work Champ scissors did great though

Then the large flathead / bottle opener was used to tighten the Lansky system

Btw if any of you guys have Lansky systems - I have a few questions:
1)does your clamp look like mine or maybe it doesn’t have this notch at the top? Really pisses me off - quite a hassle to get ahold of small blades like on a Wave, Signal, nothing to talk about Micra...

2)do you sharpen any LM/Vic blades at 17 degrees? If you do - how do you clamp your blades so the clamp itself and the red bolt don’t get in a way of a sharpening stone? I only manage to avoid that starting with 20+ degree settings

I don't own a Lansky, but a Wicked Edge and a Sharpmaker.  I think for the most clamp system, it is a challenge to sharpen smaller knife with a lower blade height, on wicked edge, there's a small angle adapter specifically for this use.  Maybe Lansky has something similar too?

For sharpening angle, I think Vic recommends 15-20deg per side.  Nowadays, just for the ease of sharpening, I usually just do some touch up on sharpmaker, and do it at 20 per side.  Or better yet, some stropping at the first sign on dull will bring back full sharpness in practically no time.

Thanks, maybe I’ll consider trying one of those as well

It’s day 5 already

My girlfriend asked me to install a (fastener?) for the balcony door in the kitchen - takes like 30 seconds for the large Phillips screwdriver on a Work Champ

Wanted to install a magnetic one, but local hardware store didn’t have it in stock, so went with the regular one now

Man do I love those Phillips screwdrivers on a Work Champ
So easy to use, nice grip and torque, nothing scratches my hands or get in the way... it’s a blessing I have to say

Been visiting mom’s place again today and one of the door handles gone loose - fixed in a moment using the larger one of those- always a joy

I'm curious if those two sizes of Philips screws are more common with one thing or another.

I understand that if you live in the US or Canada or Europe you are more or less likely to find certain types of screws....

The larger one nicely works with anything apart from most electronics, while the slimmer, longer and smaller one works great with many electronic appliances. And since I live in Ukraine we mostly have Phillips screws or sometimes hex and rarely torx. I only found out about a Robertson type when I bought a LM bit kit

Use seen some woodworking tips on YouTube the other day and the guy said he hates Phillips for being too sloppy and loves Torx best. Also said that Robertson are better than Phillips as well

To me it’ll all do except for the slot /flat ones
