Use seen some woodworking tips on YouTube the other day and the guy said he hates Phillips for being too sloppy and loves Torx best. Also said that Robertson are better than Phillips as well

To me it’ll all do except for the slot /flat ones

Flat ones are the ones I come across most when it comes to adjustments on the fly.  Maybe the others are better at staying put,

Day 6

Keep looking for stuff to fix around me

Found that a balcony door needs some work. Turned out one of the locking elements gets in a way of closing and opening the door smoothly and even has some wear marks on it. Work Champ metal file to the rescue - moments after it works like magic - which my girlfriend claims was never the case before event when it was brand new

What I also have to admit is that the file is much more efficient than the one I have in a Wave. I mean diamond one is surely a food thing to have for sharpening an axe for example, but for file tasks Vic does better job in my opinion

Day 7 - it’s been a week

Trimmed down those 1m or more long thermal insulating sleeves or whatever they are called in English to fit nicely in a box

Day 8

Opened a can of pineapples. I’m slowly learning how to use it properly. Have to admit it is way sharper, like dramatically sharper than the same can opener that was on my Forester when I bought and tried to use it first. Frankly speaking all of the fit and finish impressions are notably better with Work Champ than my Forester - instruments open and close easier and I just like it much more overall. Both great tools though.

The quality of the Vic 111's is hard to beat.  Those can openers work great!

Oh sure, but being left handed I’m still learning how to use the can opener as comfortably as the one on LMs

It is tempting.  But I've already done the 111mm Challenge once.  Maybe there needs to be a badge for two-time offenders who repeat the same Challenge.   :salute:

I was comparing the Workchamp to the Swisstool Spirit this afternoon.  The Workchamp has pretty much the same tool set, but in a different form factor.

Interesting idea - a badge for repeated challenges.

I’ve been thinking a lot about either purchasing a Spirit or a Work Champ and decided the latter suits my needs better. It has a larger blade to begin with and I don’t really use pliers that often plus have a few LMs - wanted to try smth new

Day 9

Quite a busy Saturday for my Work Champ.

One of the lightbulbs in our bedroom started to burn too often. Decided to investigate the issue and discovered that the lightbulb slot is all black inside, contacts are slightly melted down and don’t provide the contact as intended.

Time for a replacement - it was a bit tricky for me to figure out how to remove the socket for a while, but I managed eventually.

As i figured out the way to pull it out I used pliers to pull the fastener and then the large flathead to pull it further out.

The entire end of the wire was black as well - needed to cut it and strip. Work Champ pliers are no good for wire cutting, so Wave was used for that.

Afterwards I have Work Champ wire stripping functionality a try and it actually worked ok

Used pliers again to bend the contacts inside a new socket for even better retention and contact

As a final step used pliers again for wire crimping - man that thing made me smile - super cool

After final assembly seems to work just fine - hope it’ll prevent the lightbulb in our bedroom from burning out too soon and the overall electricity in our apartment will stop to misbehave from time to time.

Day 10

Rocking on. A bumper on my girlfriend’s car was a bit unlucky a while ago and now one tiny part is quite loose. She he found out that if you loose it - you’re in trouble - quite hard to find a replacement.

Here comes Work Champ teamed up with a double sided 3M duct tape and it’s all safe again - scissors for cutting, pliers for peeling off the tape cover

Should be safe and sound now

Day 13

Replaced a transparent hose for the boiler. The old one gone all rusty on the inside and my girlfriend asked for a new one to look cleaner.

Used pliers to tighten and then trim a zip tie. Although unlikely from their look pliers dealt surprisingly well with cutting

Day 14

I’m getting significantly better at can opening

One thing I’ve found to work amazingly well for me is going counterclockwise while opening the can.
