Hey everyone, been lurking this forum for about a year now and decided to join. I've owned a couple SAK's and plier-based tools for years now but have never really appreciated their usefulness until recently. I'm an aspiring MT collector, modder, and designer. I already have a decent collection of fixed blade and folding knives, and now a number of old and newer SAK's. I have even designed and made a prototype of a one-piece keychain tool. My SAK collection interests lie in vintage models with tools/features or styles that have been discontinued. I have already done some simple SAK mods, but am eager to build up my own SAK in the near future. Unfortunately, a lot of this will have to wait due to the current situation and financial burdens. My username and profile pic is James Garner's character "The Scrounger" in The Great Escape (1963), one of my favorite movies. In the film, he shows Donald Pleasence's character a SAK of some kind that he has hidden in his flight jacket. Also, the history and evolution of MT's is of particular interest to me. I have learned so much from all of you so far and I look forward to being a contributor.

I freakin' love James Garner - such a lovely, funny and genuinely interesting human being. If I remember correctly, as a child he was horribly bullied by his stepmother. As soon as he was old and big enough, he planted one right on her chin, said smurf you and left home for good. Also, did you know, that his character the Scrounger is based on his own experiences in Korea?
