I always wondered how many they made of these. I came across a mention of a warranty return in Mexico were the user sent off a Wave and got a 2H in return. He was not all that happy to get it.

When did Leatherman switch the Skeletool RX from orange to red? I was sure I wouldn't have to get one...but I find out mine is orange, and the only one now being sold by Leatherman.ca is red.  :facepalm:

Just purchased the Red RX. Now I think I am done with all of the ones found on the Canadian site. I wished we has on tap all of the ones on offer from the US site.

Did a bit of looking around on Google. It would appear that the orange RX was the first one that came out sometime in 2014. The last I could see of the orange being sold dates back to 2017/18ish. Of those sites, the orange RX are all listed as out of stock. The Red RX came sometime after that.  :think:

How did I miss this detail?  :facepalm:

Ok. Looks like my shipment from BC is delayed due to forest fires. Canada Post is stopping the mail in that area due to poor air quality. Guess I will have to be patient for the orange G10 and red RX to arrive. Also in the news...we are getting smoke from that area as well...and I am talking smack dab in the middle of the Great Lakes area.  :o

Found a used Core at the Pawn Shop today for 15 dollars. The only thing I could see was a small chip on the smaller flat screwdriver. Everything else looked very good. Looked like it was hardly used at all. Brought it home and after a 10 minute ultrasonic bath in soapy water, a bit of scrubbing with a nylon scrub pad, dried off with a can of air, and some judicial application of Rem Oil...it looks rather good. For 15 dollars, there was no way I was leaving it there.

You wouldn't believe the dirt that was left in the ultrasonic bath water. The tool looked a lot cleaner at first glance than it actually was.

When I used the Rem Oil, there was so much black gunk that bleed out of the plier pivot crease, I had to wipe it off multiple times.

In this challenge,  carry one(1) Pliers-based or Non-pliers multitool that we always have prejudice against, hate or even fear and post a picture everyday for 30 days Using EDC items randomly selected with a poker hand, post a photo of your EDC or a component of the EDC that got used during the course of the day for 4 weeks (or 30 consecutive days) In the spirit of the Batman utility belt. A 30 day challenge were you have to have at least 2 things clipped to your belt (preferably more). Start a thread and post a picture of your clipped gear each day for 30 days. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a Leatherman Skeletool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Only for the 14th year Anniversary Challenge. Post a photo of any gear for thirty (30) consecutive days during the MTo anniversary month. You have one of your pictures in the 2020 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year. Participate  in a Challenge thread and post a photo of a LM Pocket Survival Tool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the LM Crunch  Multitool for fifteen (15) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the keychain for thirty (30) consecutive days. Start a new thread and post a photo of the multitool for thirty (30) consecutive days. You have one of your pictures in the 2019 calendar or in top three of the calendar poll in any month of the given year.

Both items came in today.

Not sure when Leatherman switched the Skeletool RX from orange to red.
