He is not the only one....
Over here it's not available on my usual online store yet. I'm still reasoning not to buy it, as it's expensive and I would not carry it regularly...

Double price compared to standard, yes.

But specialty scales that actually required new tooling...
With super fine dots on them...

Polished snowflakes that pop out...

Collector's box...

And...

A unique snowflake lanyard... thingy

I paid around 16 Euro more than what a standard Pioneer X retails around here...

Thanks to a coupon I got from a kind person, and the fact that, by buying three, I didn't have to pay for shipment :D.

Yes I agree
And it's really the only reason I'm considering getting this LE at this price, it's unique (and lovely).

Only trouble is, what if they decide to make similar LE's from now on every year...?

Currently here, in the UK, the standard PX is £45 and the PXmas is £70 (that's 58 vs 90 USD or 50 vs 77 EU)

Granted that is from the Vic' store and you can find the PX cheaper elsewhere but not sure about the PXmas  :dunno:

Then there is the dreaded shipping and, if outside the EU (which we will be soon  ::) ) Customs charges

But, as mentioned previously, it does have a "thingy"  :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

I was thrilled to get my limited edition Victorinox Chinese Throwing Star. A bargain at 73 euros.
I'm just not sure what to do with the stupid penknife that came with it.

Regarding pricing, here in the US I think the last regular PX I bought was $45, while the WMX was $68, so 1.5 times more.

Compared to Europe, that makes the PX overpriced while the WMPX is a steal. Weird.

Personally, I'd welcome it.  The Nespresso Pioneers are gone, and the collectibility of Shop Editions is doubtful.  Sometimes a Shop Edition speaks to me, but mostly they don't.  I think it would be cool if Vx introduced a Winter themed Alox knife every year.  I'd buy one or two, just like I do the colored Alox special editions and a current year Soldier.  At this point, we're way past *needing* another SAK; it's just something to do and is an easy way to slowly build an interesting collection.

What do you mean the Nespresso pioneers are gone? Did they stop making them?

Yes.
Since this year, Nespresso decided to work with a bike manufacturer to build frames from the recycled capsules.

This means the 4th Nespresso knife "India" from 2019 was the last one.

Shame! I thought we'd see all those lovely colours!
(Can't stand the Nespresso idea though - despite this attempt at recycling those little capsules seem like a terribly wasteful way of selling coffee)

But surely better than just tossing the plastic ones the competition uses.  I don't own a Nespresso, but I've always been interested in them.  I do own a Keurig and just chuck the spent cartridges in the trash....
