It might be a very rare or old model, or one that's not hard to find but you just haven't got around to buying it. Yet.

At the moment I think mine is the Expedition Lite. It's all I wish in a SAK that my Super Tinker doesn't have, (corkscrew and phillips, wood saw, file, pen and flashlight) with the scale gadget to boot! It's just awesome. One day!

My dream SAK would be a Spirit XC with hardened pliers/cutters (Knipex level) and opening as wide as the MP600 pliers, plus a blade exchanger that accepts t-shank. Wouldn’t have to buy another MT ever again  :D

Similar to the Spirit, but on the full-size SwissTool.

Oh, and OHO cutting blades; for a more glove-friendly tool. My SwissTool has the best pliers for working on fencing, but unlike the ST300 it replaced, I have to take my gloves off to access the internal tools. In the winter, that's not fun. I presume, and understand that in the European market, and even some American cities, one-hand-opening AND lockijng is a big legal faux pas.

In SAKs, the Locksmith is it in 111mm. Existing model.  In 91mm, the Practical Craftsman (Ranger minus scissors), is a real heavy hitter, and just a thin 4-layer knife. With the new file, it would be awesome.  84mm is the old 84mm Craftsman and Master Craftsman; both of which need a revival.

To answer a different question in the same way...

What is my Unicorn SAK?

A Compact with a small blade.  The combo tool normally takes the place of the small blade.  But I would like to have both.
or
A Pioneer X with a combo tool and a small blade instead of the opener layer.

one can only wish.

That's something I've wondered. Is the awl really worth it in place of a blade? I guess for the Swiss brass it is, but is it for most people?

I'd like a Swisschamp stripped of its blade and opener layers to make six layers of near perfect toolset. I could go a 93mm awl paired with, I don't know, something, or even nothing in a seventh layer. Of course it would have to be a custom build. My blade and opener layer would be a Tourist, a serrated Recruit, or maybe a serrated Spartan. I like the serrated large blade!

That's something I've wondered. Is the awl really worth it in place of a blade? I guess for the Swiss brass it is, but is it for most people?

The 93mm awl is a jewel in the Victorinox crown, whose greatness is only revealed with use. But I reckon also exactly the same of the small blade.

I’m really keen on the inline awl on the 93mm SAKs, and as much as I like the small blade, the fact the awl is sharpened and has a multitude of uses makes it a must have, but I do always have a manager or rambler on my keychain for a small blade (not in the same league admittedly) and tweezers

I’ve been pondering this question of my dream SAK and usually I’d say cadet with scissors but really I mean bantam alox with scissors, team that with a farmer and I’m well covered.

The huntsman covers this combo I know and is one of my all time faves, but back to the awl, that inline awl is awesome.

So then to the farmer x, the more I own this model the more I realise it probably is my dream SAK. However, (there’s always a however!), it’s a bit heavy wearing shorts on a hot summers day, so back to the idea my dream SAK is probably two SAKs…being difficult I know :twak:

When I don’t need a saw, then compact or bantam with scissors (if it existed, voyageur perhaps), nice and light, covers most things day to day (without using a dedicated tool), pioneer x for something more heavy duty. When I do need a saw but traveling light, my new walker is hard to beat but no scissors. Covering all bases then, back to FX or huntsman.

Hmmm think my trouble is my dream SAK really depends on the day, and to be fair to VIC probably already exists

Trying not to ramble on too much longer :twak: , my dream SAK when I don’t need a saw and there’s not an R in the month (Australian winter) is bantam x, compact pretty close but not alox and not as slim, PX awesome but almost the same size as FX. So back to the FX, best SAK ever…probably :)

In my magical mystical Pioneer X... I have an awl, large blade, combo tool, and small blade... so it's in addition to, rather than in place of.

How can one decide between their two children?

This is my dream SAK.  Apparently it's a SwissChamp that was made for the Victorinox centennial from what I've read.  I've never seen one in person, and I don't know anyone with one.
I've only seen this photo on the internet:

As to why, I think it is beautiful.

That is a beauty!
I guess it depends on what you think you're going to be doing.  I love my new farmer X.  I feel naked without scissors, and even though I don't use it a lot I like having the saw "just in case". and of course the awl is amazing!
It is a bit much to have in your pocket if you're going out and not planning on "working".  I just got a compact for that purpose - bottle opener, corkscrew covers the social part, with a knife and scissors just in case something comes up.  And if someone breaks a nail, a file on the hook (why isn't there a file on all hooks?).  The only thing is the compact isn't quite compact enough, I guess I've gotten used to the thinner Alox.
So I've decided I'm going to try my first mod, an 84 mm version of the compact, a more compact compact.  Almost a golfer, except I'm going to try to add a hook with a file, or at least part of one.    That will be my party knife!

Oh, it’s one of the best knives ever made by Victorinox! Let me consider him my dream SAK too! I hope it has real solid sterling silver scales unlike famous Tiffany one with plastic under a thin silver layer. I only know one person who has it, Michael Young, and he shown his SwissChamps in his book:

The one SAK that I’ve diligently searched for without success—and one that I have resolved myself to accept that I may never find—is a 91mm Waiter Plus.

In the keychain format, the Pocket Tool Chest comes pretty close. Maybe with a Phillips-tipped combo tool and a pen in the scales while I'm dreaming.
In 111mm, a Locksmith with the scissors/fine Phillips layer.
For intermediate sizes, I'm still searching.

Oh my!  That is so beautiful.  Interesting that the scales are on a Deluxe Tinker, I thought it only came on the SwissChamp.
Would love to add either knife configuration to my collection.

My sort of dream SAKs are the ones made in collaboration with Bonfort.

I wish I owned a few of those.

If I did, I would sell them and pay off my mortgage :P

Well said, pipedreams!  :D

Why not have a custom Cadet X made? It'd probably save you some time waiting for a factory release.

Nah. I waited out the Pioneer X and Farmer X. I’m patient. I will, however, pester Victorinox often.

a Pioneer X with a combo tool.

Well, because it has every basic tool I need and is thin! I'm a big fan of the Climber but the awl in the PX and its thinnes (even tho it lacks tweezers and the nail) is lovely.

84mm Master Craftsman with the chisel, technician’s screwdriver and long nail file added to the backside tools.  I’m sure Vic will be coming out with that shortly 🤪.
