Well lots of chatter about the 2021 Alox models around the web.
It looks like the Hunter Pro, PX and Classic will be the models for this year.

I am very tempted to update the Wiki - But will wait until it's officially on the Vic website.

On the one hand, I kinda get the frustration over the change, especially for the Cadet, Pioneer collectors and fans who were hoping for years worth of their model in all the colours, and folk who do not like change!
On the other, I just think - "Well it changed!"  ! So whether you regard it as one series ending and another beginning - Or just a change in the series models - That is how it is -  Suck it up  - And decide how you wanna move forward
On the Vic side, the cynical (and probably correct) view is that they want more money from us, and that is possibly nearly doubling your costs if you want to collect all of them!       The other view is that they are giving us more variety   

One universally accepted opinion seems to be that everyone loves the orange - There is something about orange Alox - eh? 

I don't collect these but have three: a 2015 Pioneer and 2016 Cadet and Classic - All of which I really like
I also don't have a Hunter Pro - But could be tempted with this one - Although my brain will tell me:
'Why am I paying 20% more for an orange, compared to a red, one?"

I'm right there.  ColoSwiss collected all of the Alox 3 knife Limited Editions from Victorinox.  I bought him 2019 and 2020 to keep him current, but I'm at a crossroads.
I wonder do I keep buying years 2021 and on, or has that series ended.    I have time to figure it out, but if I wait too long, the knives become more expensive.

I am happy if true because I really like the Pioneer X, so a LE is nice.

I am not an alox collector, but I understand the frustration of others on the getting rid of the pioneer and cadet LE.  I love the various exclusive/LE celidor scales! But hate that most only come on Tinkers.  I’m guessing limiting models that have different scale variations is a business decision (money), but I really wish they would expand variety instead of replacing or deleting.

Yes, in previous years you could buy the whole LE series (if you wanted) for about 110 euros. The new set will cost 231 euros!
Of course the different SAKs in it explain much of the price difference, but anyone familiar with past prices of Hunters, Xes and Classics will wonder if Victorinox isn't being a bit greedy here. I know, nobody is forcing us to buy these things. I'll probably get an X. But there is no way in hell I'm buying a Classic for 43 euros!

The Hunter is certainly an expensive choice to have for a LE, but it's cool to see it involved.

And yes the Classic SD alox LE is expensive... but it's also such a good model, and in that color...

I would like the Hunter but would prefer the OHO option. I can't really carry it (unless the usual UK exemptions apply) so, given that here in the UK OHO is not a the disqualifying factor I'd like the option (especially for that money  )

I already ordered a PX. I like that model and the colour, so I couldn't resist the temptation, but I'm a bit sad about the regular pioneer.
Zero interest on classic or hunter.

I have seen 2021 LE models for pre-order on a pair of german online stores. I ordered it on messerundco.de. The article won't be available until January 28, though.

Very nice ....... Very expensive .....  Although good discount for the set!!


Question for y'all -
Over a year what percentages of these Alox LEs go to collectors and what to regular purchasers just buying a SAK they like ?   
And also how many do they sell in a year?

It has been One year, 3 months and 3 days since I took custody of the collection and the feeling is still strong that it is his.  Perhaps that will lessen as time goes on and I can combine our collections.

I just realized I made a mistake it's been 1 year, 4 months, 3 days.  143, how appropriate as I love the collection.
