Can you tell what it is yet?

I got given this model back at Christmas and only just got around to properly starting it.  Sorry Dad. :-[  It's a click together kit so no glue required, but that doesn't make it child's play either.

The basics are simple enough, cut out from sprue, trim off any excess and click into place.

What make this a bit more challenging is just how small and fiddly some of these pieces are.  I also abandoned the side cutters in favour of some 91mm Vic scissors, a small blade from a 84mm Vic and a LM Squirt P4.

Oh, so close. :D  This is by Bandai and came over from Japan.  It's just as well the pictures are clear, 'cos I don't read Japanese.

Every single sodding pipe has to be installed separately and frankly I could only do so much before I started going cross-eyed.

More to come over the next couple of days.

It looks awesome Gareth!  I gave up building models years ago because of the amount of times i moved and had to rebuild them!

My parents still have some around the house though, and it's always fun to see them again and remember all the fun I had building and painting them!

I'm in the same boat as Grant.

That being said I have a couple incomplete kits I've been meaning to get around to finishing.

Last one I "finished" was a snap kit Slave 1 I found at toysrus on clearance sale

I keep thinking I need to get back into it.  I really enjoyed it.  The problem is that I don't have the time or funding for the hobbies I'm already doing, I don't really need to add to the list.   :ahhh

For years now I've wanted another airbrush. It just hasn't been in the financial cards. I had one of those cheap ones in the past which used the canned air instead of a compressor, which is better than brushing paint.

Plus there was a time where I had a huge selection of paints, now I'd be starting off fresh which means buying a whole new selection to use small amounts on details.

Then there's the issue of where do I setup, and are things safe while I'm waiting for them to dry... we have limited rooms and it's not that easy to close one off from the cats (it reduces the limited space they have dramatically) or I have to pickup everything and hide it away constantly which is no fun.

So, err...I might have forgotten about this model for a while.   I found it gathering dust in a box under my bed.  Pulled my finger out and got it finished.  I must have been 95% done when I last put it down.  I'd also forgotten just how fiddly all the separate pipes are.

I have many unfinished kitsets too.
I think I lost interest when I discovered that 95% of it was painting.  :-\

I’ve always loved models, especially the smell that came with them  but I just never could paint them, I was horrible! But then I found these others, and the neat thing is I was in hvac and you start with a flat piece of sheet metal and make ductwork, and this you kinda do the same it comes as 1-3 sheets of metal and then you got to form them to fit,, and on the plus side you don’t paint them! And there starting to come out with painted sets, I love them!

Looks fantastic Gareth!  Ready to do its trench run for sure!

My other problem with model building is what to do with them when they are done?  They sure take up a lot of space...

That is indeed a very good question.  One to which I don't have a good answer to yet. :D

That’s why I built the shelf with the light, so I can stack them up, only thing is those models are kinda small so I could fit more,, but if I finish the stack of models the Mrs got me I’ll probably need more shelving,,
