No problem. I tried to link the photo but couldn’t. I suppose if you keep freezing the video you can see it. The center pivot is black with a hex fastener.  I’m hoping that the ARC has this as well.

I was tempted by Mr Crunch and now this one.  We will see where my interest is as we near the drop.  Its pretty neat thats for sure and its 40th Anniversary.  Be nice if they offered a large quantity of these to the public.
Ain't that the truth?!  To certain extent, I actually hope they don't celebrate the 40th with this very limited Garage #5, but do it with the larger quantity with the regular ARC offering.

What LM is today, is not by offering very limited boutique, expensive collectables, but by putting out great, solid everyday tools, so anyone can find joy using them.  I am sure if they are willing to just laser etch ARC with 40th labels, they will be flying off the shelves like hotcakes, I mean what better way to celebrate than putting a new tool in everyone's hand?

I'll even go further and say that the Free P4 would be Leatherman's best multitool if it didn't have such a crappy selection of handle tools (4 flatheads, a ridiculously small file, and a blunt-tip awl)

:iagree: I really like the Free platform, such a great potential with everything being one hand operable
I still remembered getting the P4 when it was first released, and it was such a let down.  Totally wasting a new platform with potential, by putting in some of the worse choice of tools possible into the chassis.  I have waited soooo long for this 'correction', finally!

I hope you are right, buddy. This is a tool set I want to use. But I don't want to buy a collector's item and use it. I would rather buy a MT that is regular stock and use it, something that is replaceable. Even if the blade is 440c instead of Magnacut.
My exact sentiment.  I really do look forward seeing ARC as a part of the regular offering, even just with S30V or 420HC.

Very nice, the best picture of it I've seen so far. Not the biggest fan of that brown coating though. Thanks for sharing :tu:

That would be nice.  I'm already preparing for disappointment in the 1983 lotto and trying to decide if I should hold out for the Arc (someday...) or go for immediate gratification with a BO Surge.

Any ideas on what the price of this thing is going to be?  I would guess it’s going to be the most expensive garage release yet.

I'm guessing around $200

The Dark Side was $250, so that's my guess.

The Arc was briefly shown on the B&H Video website for I think $179.00, so the Garage #5 should be well north of that.  I'll say $250 or above.  We'll soon know.

If true, that would be a great price.  I can’t wait to see these new products.  Especially the rumored adapter kit.

I forgot where I saw it, but a sleuth found a new placeholder at the LM site for something called “adapter kit.”

Maybe the adapter kit makes old guys like me appreciate free series multitools instead of grumbling about how there was absolutely nothing wrong with internal only, non locking implements.

I am excited by this new garage variant and like that they showed the tool in advance of the release date. I, like Adam, would prefer a tool I can use vs one for a shelf so not sure if I will try and buy one or not. I still have the first Mr. Crunch, but I would never dare use it. I might sell it at some point but for now I take it out every so often and admire it. I am afraid this one would be the same. Lots of cash tied up in a shelf queen. Decisions, decisions...

The good part about this release is that we know that a user equivalent is on the way.  I think that I might get out of the Garage game. We’ll see. It has to end at some point I suppose. I really just want to see some new good user options. The ARC looks like a helluva start.

:iagree:  The ARC looks to be a nice offering vs safe queen that most if not all Garage tools are destined to.

:iagree:...cannot wait for the ARC...I do wish it had a serrated blade, but that looks to be the only implement I really like on a MT. Everything else is well thought out.

I had to trade my day off and I'm working on Wednesday.  Good luck to you all!  You've got one less competitor and more more Arc hopeful.  8)

Saw this on Facebook. Apparently this is the "extremely rare ambassador/influencer model" in gray instead of white.

About time I signed up for Instagram then. I was unaware that Leatherman made exclusive models for influencers, that is very cool. I think the gray looks better than white too

I can’t really get excited about the micro bit driver, but apart from that, it looks like a great tool.

Agree that the grey looks better than the white, at least for an everyday tool.

Do we have any idea if Number 5 has a name? Will it simply be “the 40th anniversary Garage one”?

According to the Facebook post, he’s giving away one of the special grey “influencer” models.

I wonder how many of them have been made and if they’re included in the 1,983.
